Hello everybody, my name is Essam Fekry from Egypt, I just sold My BMW F800ST and bought 2010 Honda VFR1200F with 13000 km on it, in very good shape, it seems to me an amazing bike.."2 in 1" that was my first impression. any way I am so glad to be with the "VFRWORLD" as I read a lot of your discussions especially on the 1st and 2nd gear issue and sure I will need your advice.
Hi Eassam and welcome to the MadHouse:welcome:. Good luck with your 1200. Those early models had a few issues with swarf - so if you have not checked this yet, get a dealer to confirm that your bike is not among the affected batch. Hopefully yours is not affected, in which case you will soon discover they are really excellent long distance tourers. Don't get overly stressed by the first-second gear limiting. The 1200 is still a very very quick bike, and that limiting is there to stop you getting carried away in low gears which can cause the bike to loose traction and unexpectedly launching you and your bike the wrong side of a hedge. Take care - ATGATT SkiMad
Welcome. We need pictures. BTW. In case you di not know ATGATT means All the Gear All the Time. Most here buy into the idea that if you are not going to take decent steps to protect yourself by wearing proper safety gear, you should not be riding. Then there are those who like board shorts, tank tops and flip flops.
Thank you guys...Sorry I lost the group some how. I have checked already and the bike done with 2015 recall... but I can't get over the lower gears issue. I have to do something. Wish to get ecu reflashed but got 0 answers from Don Guhl motors. Got some pics for you randy but to be honest dnot go fully geared. But enough from my point of view.
