Great idea that, Mexico refuse to pay (now why would they do that?) so bankrupt them to make them pay. No, wait a minute........

The problem with Trump, well one of the many, is that his tongue engages long before his brain. Now, when the Romans built a wall to keep us Scots from marauding into their conquered land, they certainly weren't stupid enough to ask us to pay for it.

I worked for many years designing communication systems for military hospitals and I know that the Government doesn't move quickly on construction projects. No way is Trump is going to start building anything in a month or two. It has to designed, funds approved, bids from 3 major approved general contractors, contracts executed, logistical problems, land and right of ways have to be obtained, surveys done, approvals and permits and probably in some cases eminent domain used. Then there are the geological barriers, Native American lands, on and on. It will take a long time before construction starts. Trump doesn't understand the differences between the private sector and government ways of working.

I wonder how the wall war with Mexico will work out. We export over 1/4 trillion to them and import about the same. Could seriously fuck up both economies. And they will come anyways.

Don't worry now that you have the Trupster ...America will be strong again ..... Can't wait here in Canada to get rid of Trudeau so O'Leary can step up and be our baby Tump !! Hopfully once the masses see the positive results, it will change the tide of politician's running for office and more bright people with street smarts and common sense instead!! :bull_head:

Something has bothered me since the beginning of this wall fiasco. How will everyone get the lettuce for their Big Macs and work at the taco stands that allows most of us to get ugly fucking obese?

Who is going to cut and trim our lawns because we are too goddam lazy to do it ourselves and won't pay more that $20.00 to get it done?

Who is going to look after our kids because we want to go out to snort a couple lines at night rather than sit with our own flesh and blood and try to tech them how to become responsible hard working ethical adults? Actually how many of us even know what that is?

The only reason there is an illegal immigration problem f=down there, FOR THE MOST PART, is that hard working Mexican people are trying to get into the USA so they can have something you have, and live a decent and relatively safe life. They want your way of life. There is not the same problem on your northern borders. I would suggest that immigration both ways on that border are fairly consistent based on percentage of population. Why? Because we too are a well to do and safe nation as are many others. Sorry Auzies you are having the problems you do, but the root problem is the same.

Take away the criminal element on both sides of the pond, I believe you will find that the number of hard working people coming across that border illegally far out weigh the murderers, sex deviants and drug dealers. Tell me. Are you suggesting that there are none of these people who are born there or even have families that have lived there for many generations?

We might try to find a way to help Mexico overcome their shortfalls. No. We should not force our way of life on them or send our troops over there to force them to adopt American values, or Canadian values. We want them to establish their own good way of life and keep their citizens there if they want to stay there

Our country was born on immigration. If it were not for immigration, our countries would not be what they are. Is there problems with our way of life? You bet your sweet ass there is. We are far from perfect.

Here is the reason you can't determine US Policy on Twitter: "For instance, before a car arrives at a local dealership, its parts already crossed both southern and northern borders multiple times. All that criss-crossing is a key reason why 6 million U.S. jobs depend on trade just with Mexico, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce."

Because it can't be reduced to 140 characters.

Motorcycles are a great example of American Manufacturing and why the idea is great but for the working folk its not great. You pay silly money for a Harley not because its that much better than other bikes in its class, you are paying for the American Labor / MFG that is it. American Labor /MFG is NOT cheap. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, thrive on cheap labor and MFG. There are more poor and middle class people on the planet and if we can get something just as good and cheaper guess what, the "bargain" will win. If Harley made a VFR it would have cost 3 to 4 grand more easily. We can try to fool ourselves into thinking we are making America great again with this MFG gimmick, we should be smart enough to know that its a Band-Aid and once we start MFG and putting stuff on the shelf that's made in the USA and its much more than its competitors, the poor and middle class is not going to buy it, and in return they will lose there MFG jobs again! markets will crash again!... As it is most of us won't even buy American cars and that's the best bargain's going but do to our brainwashed label chasing society, and Americas past history in the car market it makes it a tough habit to break. I love the fact that MFG is at forefront of convo in this country again, but its a hard sell when the average American is taxed to death and needs to make no less than $20.00 an hour just to have a so called "life". The rich could care less because they will still have there grandfather and fathers money to fall back on right Mr. Trump? We need a cost effective way of MFG in order to strive for long haul.

I wonder how many Trump voters drive cars by Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, VW, Volvo, BMW, Audi, Mercedes, plus all the other British, Italian, etc?

I think trump should give all his voters Harley's. In a year they will be so broke trying to keep one running that they will impeach him for providing "alternative" motorcycles.

What the Mexicans may do if this wall is ever built is to go back to the old Spanish land grants, say they own the wall and make trump pay them for it.

Probably a few of trump's voters have sold their cars and believe that trump is going to fix them up with limo service.

Would that we could reduce trump followers to 140 characters then display them in Canada.

I drive a Honda car and ride a Honda VFR, a Nissan, and a Toyota. All but the VFR were manufactured and assembled here, and in the case of the Honda car, the engine was manufactured in Canada. My Honda motorcycle was manufactured in Japan. Japanese labor is not cheap per hour. They just work smart and produce more efficiently than other countries. Look up Honda's motorcycle assembly line on Youtube. As far as Hardleys, a lot of their parts come from overseas to be assembled into shiny shit that people are willing to pay for due to great marketing of an obsolete designed "motorcycle". Doesn't matter who anybody voted for, Trump won and, no, not everything will be manufactured in America. Do we really want to see underwear factories here again? Is anyone here willing to work in an underwear factory? I'm not. Let China have that shit.

Enrique Pena Nieto has now cancelled his meeting with Trump, but he should have just shrugged and said, yeah, okay, send us a bill...

I believe the last three Ford F series work trucks in our yard were made in Venezuela. My 2017 Toyota Tundra has made in the USA stamped on it. And yes I am one of the deplorables.

Nelix, trying to get the Scots to pay for anything, I'd like to see that, :glee: obviously the Romans had also worked that out
