Hi guys ! new to this forum. I have a 93, i am going to install a new speedo. As i bought a crashed up VFR, and the speedo is in 1000 pieces. So it needs replacing. I have googled this quite a bit so not to start my first thread up with a used up discussion. But i can not find a decent answer. So to the question: Can i replace the adapter on the sprocket for wire to eletric and just hook it up to a new speedo (ebay speddo). (I imagine a speedo healer will have to be used) As this would be the most efficient way to make it work layful: Or does anyone have an better solution and experiance ?? (Sorry for my bad spelling, I am a Norwegian Viking and we just pulnder and rape, not correct spelling irate
I would imagine you could do it. Would be better to stay with the stock cluster. I have an extra (not 4 sale) i see them on ebay alot. The speedo is driven off the counter sprocket as you know, the next gen bike did it different. Just to change the subject, Volbeat rocks :rockband: and you english is Ace
Haha =D Thanks but Volbeat are Danish, but i have been at quite a few concerts with the band, and have had the pleasure to drink with them a couple of times. I have had the posistion as "Security Manager" at one of Norways best Metall festival www.karmoygeddon.no. But i am getting of subject as well here I am building a streetfigther out of my vfr, and i would like to get a more simple an fancy speedo, si i think i will go for the eletrical and see if i cant sort it out ! Thansk !
The 4th gen speedo sender is probably just a common Hall-effect sender that can work with any electronic speedometer (using a speedo healer, probably). I think I've read that it fits the 3rd gen... Ciao,
