Trying to remove the throttle body assembly in order to replace the thermostat on my 5th gen VFR.
I'm at the point where I'm to disconnect the wiring connector just above the radiator of the left side.
Is there a trick to it? It's not budging for me. I don't want to force it.
Looks like I'm to depress the tab on the one side. Is there a tab on the other side?
    Any suggestion appreciated.

I removed my 5th gen's throttle body just a couple of days ago.

The big gray-colored wiring connector you're talking about only has 1 press-tab to release it. The problem you're having is probably due to the size of this connector. Because of its size it has a lot surface area and that large surface area (compared to most of the other, smaller connectors on the bike) results in a lot of "sticktion" a.k.a. static-friction which is resistance to beginning movement.

Also, if you haven't finished pulling the throttle body off here's a solution I found: To pull the throttle body off of the rubber connectors I thoroughly warmed up the connectors and surrounding metal to soften up the rubber connectors (I used my daughter's hair dryer, this took a while). Then I looped a tie-down strap under the left-rear corner of the throttle body (cylinder #1) and put the strap up around my shoulders. This allowed me to brace my hands on the bike's frame (pressing down) and use my back and upper body (lifting upward) to pull directly upward on the throttle body. I was able to ease the throttle body out of the rubber connectors in a very gentle and slow manner.

Look on Eastern Beaver for some pics of the connectors. Sumitomo, I think they are. Or look at some Power Commander pics.

    Ciao,
