When I get home and shovel a path to the garage to get the snowblower out I will sit on the VFR and make vroom vroom sounds in your honour AM. I may even take the key out and start it up... grinning just thinking about it...

After I ran "The Beast" to clear the drive, I took the "Sniffer" (Timber) out for a couple of miles walk. She sniffs a lot, critters walk along the rural roadside too.

Well I went to order a new air filter for the bike today and had a small heart attack when they told me the price

$172.95 New Zealand $$$ for an air filter ...........NO thank you

Google is my newest friend and I will buy one elsewhere and import it

Last time I bought one in Australia it was only $87...and a couple of cents

Bluewing Honda New Zealand you are a bloody big rip off

You're right about that! I'd like to support my local dealer (they're nice blokes) but every time I try to order the price is high and the parts take 4 weeks to arrive from Japan.

Suggest you order from Partzilla for OEM, or buy a Hiflo from Moto 1 for $51 ( my local independent, great service from Rich).

Partzilla shipping costs from the US to NZ are quite reasonable and usually 10 days or thereabouts. The US cost is US$42 for the airflter so probably NZ85 or so for the item, delivered to you.

Figure I'd get the viffer out, warm it up getting a couple heat cycles through it, plus check the charging system, etc. 29 and started snowing SMH.

I rode to San Diego today in the rain. I started out at 5:30A, nice and dark and raining! Pics from my front and rear cameras on my 6 Gen.

It felt a little strange having fixed my RVF so I decided to take the front off to fit a low beam relay.. I'm not going to ride it for a couple of months so figured before I start work on the VFR I may as well get this all buttoned up how I want it.

Two days ago it was 15 degrees over night with highs in the mid 20s. Today I have the window open and it is in the mid 70s. I took advantage of the weather to ride my Suzuki TS125 up to the state inspection station to get started on my bonded title application. It was pretty fun. All the guys there had never seen a two-stroke street bike in the flesh and were amazed and quite taken with it.

LOL, I know what you mean. I just recently sold my 1975 RD 350. It always got attention where ever I took it. hHere could be a brand new Duc 1290 and the 40 year old bike got all the attention.

Almost pooped myself many moons ago when test riding a friends RZ500 on the highway. Went full throttle at highway speed and when it hit the power band the front wheel lifted right up. Naturally I eased off the throttle...... doesn't work so well on a 2 stroke as I found out, managed to find the rear brake somehow and brought it back down that way. Live and learn.

Would love to have the experience of an rz350 or 500 on the streets. Just knowing what a hot xc tuned 350 banshee (rz 350 minus power valve) can do on 4 wheels gives me the shakes just thinking of riding a 2t street bike.

Adjusted my chain and have been able to repeat that unsettling rear wheel wobble feel that I had experienced at highway speed on gentle-moderate enter/exit ramps. Turns out it's just a thing with old school bias tires, doesn't seem to affect grip much at all. Still going to pick up a 17X3.5 vf1K wheel which will be fitted with a 140/80R17 or even a 150/80R17 if I can find one. Once I get an adjustable rear shock I should be able to go to a 70 series tire.

New genuine Honda chain and sprocket kit installed, then rode 200 miles. Man there is a big difference using the Honda sprockets. Must be the rubber thing on the front one.

Got out for a short 50 miles ride after 12" rain since new years! Some roads still closed, lots of small mud slides. Sunny & 54 degrees today.

Ordered new PR4 for the front from Jake Wilson's, $152, no tax, no shipping.
