Oh yeah, I've got the stator being upgraded and asked for longer wires so i can go straight to the reg/rec connector. The reg/rec dc wires are going straight to the battery with a fuse to take some stress off of the original wires/fuse. I might end up still bypassing the original main fuse and installing something fresh, we'll see.

My new side cover bolt came in, had to buy an entire panel with it to get one though... For the life of me i couldn't fine anyone to sell me just the damn bolt. Ah well, $25 shipped and i can quit snipping zip ties every time i want to take a peak at the battery or fuel filter or whichever side i felt was least likely to act up on me :p

While staring at my old seat cover tied on with fishing line awaiting me to finish stitching the new cover pieces together, I wonder why I ever decided to pattern, cut and build my own seat cover.
Finally got the second of two possible seals to stop oil from leaking into my stator cover, pulled the rotor and what do I find but no seal and a quarter sized hold cast into the case allowing a view of my two left most rods. Apparently it is designed to sling a little cooling oil into the stator cover. Boy do feel like an idiot, only option now is to replace or reseal the little grommet that goes over the stator wires as that's where oil is seeping from.
Oh well you live you learn, should have took what I spent on seat cover material, flywheel puller, and seals and just bought a pre-made seat cover.
It goes without saying that this is my first V4, also my first street bike.

Little bit of silicone sealant will fix that right up. Shove the wires up through the grommet a bit and clean and dry em, clean and dry the grommet, then coat the wires with sealant where the grommet is supposed to go and put it back in place with a little sealant around the outside of the grommet too. Should fix you right up, just don't use so much that it is falling off into the case. While you're at it take a peak at the connector between those 3 wires and the reg/rec, take a look at the crispy one from mine i posted yesterday... and strongly consider snipping that connector off and directly soldering the wires together. Mine looked good a year ago so i left it alone, wish i ahd just soldered it then.

^ nice pipe compared to the stock gen 3 stuff! Glad your enjoying that bike, they last forever yah know. I lucked into a used Penske shock for my newer gen3 bike I got. Had it overhauled and am happy with it. The bike with the Fox shock rides better all around though, not fair to compare them though, as the 91 I had for 22 years and has some other stuff the 93 doesnt have on it. Keep us posted on the zx14 shock :peace:

Are you going to leave the pressure plate bare aluminum? Perhaps something like this might be in order.

Easy enough to do the polishing yourself if you like the look. I used 400, 800 then 1500 to even out the pits from the casting process and then used some Tripoli (Brown and then Red) in order to bring up the shine. I've got a buffer motor on a stand but you could easily get some cotton buffs and use a drill.

I looked at the bikes in the garage, slumbering away under their winter covers, and then went out to shovel the 6 inches of snow off the driveway before going to work. LOL

    Beautiful 55°F in Kansas.
Rode to work today and riding felt amazing with moto being so lightweight due to no gear.

I just love and have a deep respect for my machine. After the freeze we went through together last week, he fired up just as strong as ever this morning, as it was every single time during that night ride last week.

    This moto is a beast. <3 <3

Tomorrow I have training and I will get off in enough time to have some more daylight to give him the scrub down he deserves. <3 <3
