Hey guys, This was a strange trip to the VFR world. It started in May when I bought a Suzuki Burgman 400. It was to get back to riding and satisfy my itch. I thought it would make a great around town bike and some highway runs. Well I was wrong. It did a great job on the highway so well I put 500 miles in one week. It returned 68 mpg, has a trunk and handles well. Okay how did I get here? My highway commutes use fast NJ roads, the early afternoon speeds get crazy. I can do 80-85 mph but not fun for too long 70-75 is much better.. So when I need to pass forget it. The middle lane is 90. I can manage but I need to pick my spots. I'm pushing the machine beyond the limits it was designed for. Not wanting a bigger scooter I started to search and found a very nice 02 with 3800 miles, heli(?) some exhaust that has a false left can and ABS. Traded the Burgy (I know I'm going to miss that trunk) and pick the VFR up tomorrow. The deal was fair it cost me some $ for my change of heart but as soon as I pile on some miles I'm sure I'll forget. Thanks for reading, Joe Bethlehem,PA
Joe, You just need a top case, or some other trunk. Lots of room to bungie stuff too. Will your feet get lonely now, being so far apart?
Welcome to the gorup. I am sure you'll find the VFR a fun ride and will handle NJ traffic and roads well.
I had to laugh that was great. Not only will my feet be apart they will have to work for their ride. Yes I'm certain the VFR will handle the NJ traffic OK. Although the soccer moms in their SUVs could test that. Thank you guys nice to be here. Joe
