Good value Chain & Sproket set

My chain will need replacing soon on my 2006 800. I usually use RK sprockets and DID Xring chains on my other bikes.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

 

Sounds like a good combo to me. I use DID chain, but get sprockets from Sprocketcenter because I don't believe RK offers the 45-tooth steel sprocket.

 

I have bought DID several times and am likely to continue. I believe in the X ring vs the o ring but I can't back that up with any expertise. Sprocket Center has been the best source for my purchases so far as well. If you have been happy with what you have, I suggest you stay with it unless someone can show you something that may be better and back up the claim with documented testing.

What's the comparison/advantage between the 43 & 45 rear sprocket?

 

I've been using JT sprockets exclusively now for a few years. they're cheap, but robust like the OEM ones. I typically order a RK wxring to go with them

 

The 45-tooth sprocket gives quicker acceleration since it effectively lowers the gearing. My '99 OEM gearing made 1st gear ridiculously tall for a relatively lower powered bike. The 45-tooth makes pulling away from an uphill stop with a passenger much easier on the clutch. Also it makes loading it in my toyhauler easier.

OTOH it also raises rpm at all speeds and makes the speedometer just about worthless. I use a bicycle computer since it is much cheaper than a SpeedoHealer. I've not noticed any reduction in mileage due to the increased rpm. YMMV, literally.
