I think Scubalong is in the right ball park. Most decent shape 5 Gens are going for at least $2500 and closer to $3500 when in great shape and the 5 Gen seems to be a little more sought after. That's not saying the 4 Gen is any less of a bike, but considering it has carburetors and plastics are harder to find, most people seem to gravitate to the 5 and 6 Gens. Of course there are the inevitible collectors or people who just really want a 4 Gen and they may pay more of a premium for one.

Awe, kinda a split market in those interested, those that just want a VFR cause they look nice, don't have a clue what they're about. so paying top dollar they won't. Then those that know what a VFR is and appreciate em for what they do, that's a split as well, some will understand and if super clean known history, easy 4K but most would probably only shell out 3-3500, just depends on who you reach with your time frame. I've seen clean one owner that are immaculate go for 5k why wouldn't they, they are hard to come by, biggest threat is the 5th gen, in that they are all over from $1500- 4k .

If it is what you say it is, Id give you $3000 usd. But im not going to Canada to get it! I love those old Hondas.

I would not sell my gen 5 for less than $5000. I wont say its like new, but its close.

It's easy, keep the VFR for now, but go buy the ducati and ride it a couple of times to get over that ducatilingus, then decide if the painful ducati ride is what you really want or would you enjoy the VFR more for long term...if you sell the vfr and have seller's remorse, you won't easily find another in that condition. If you only ride on sundays then the duc might work, but if you want to do any long rides the viffer wins out.

I rode a 748 for about 15 minutes, then suffered back pain for a day ! Very uncomfortable, torturous riding position. Only bike more uncomfortable is the MV Augusta i sat on once.
