    I have two:

One: On my 919 I run to the drug store to pick up a prescription. I get back on my bike and put the kick stand up. Just then a big gust of wind sends an errant shopping cart directly at the back end of my bike. I reached back to catch the cart, lost my balance and dumped the bike on its side pinning my left leg under the bike. I'm a little embarrassed and angry at this point. Two people actually walked by me and didn't offer to help. I finally get my leg out (minus my hiking boot) and stand up the bike. Then I noticed that I stepped in a wad of hot gum with my sock foot. Now I'm really pissed. I strip the sock off and throw it in a garbage can and put my boot back on my sock less foot. Then I noticed the damage to the alternator cover that I had just replaced for $97. And the broken clutch lever and the dent in the tank. I was cussing all the way home. And the irony is that they didn't even have my prescription ready.

Two: My '06 white VFR was the first street bike I had ever bought new so it was like my new supermodel girlfriend. I was half way through a 600 mile day trip and my friend and I stopped for a snack. I parked my bike parallel to the curb in the shade of a tree and went off to get something to drink. I get back and decide to sit on my bike and drink my beverage. I throw my leg over it and plant my ass only to have the bike pitch over towards the curb. I didn't realize it when I had gotten off the bike but the pavement was sloping towards the curb which stood the bike up almost vertically and when I sat my weight down and compressed the suspension it had nowhere to go but over. Now the curb was almost a foot tall so all of my attempts to get my leg out to help me catch the bike were of no use. So the bike rolls over on the curb while pinning my leg between the curb and bike. I only had to wait 5 or so minutes (felt like 30) for my friend to come out and help get the bike off me. The fall scratched the hell out of the side of the bike and the sharp edge of the curb cut through the leather and into the ankle armor in my boot. At that point the bike was no longer my supermodel girlfriend - I referred to her as "The Bitch" for the rest of the trip.

Mine happend in 1985 on my GPz550 progressing slowly on the very wet muddy dirt track entering the Bathurst bike race's camping ground.

Looking up to my right was puzzeled at the 100 odd yobs drinking beer on the overlooking grassy enbankment, just as my gaze returned forward I rode through what looked like another innocent puddle sinking down to my front guard of my fully loaded bike falling over in the muddy slop to the drunken mob's loud cheering.

After setting my tent up and initially getting the humps at the lack of warning got a beer and joined them in cheering newly arriving riders falling over in the same messy slop.

    LMAO!!!
Not laughing at you, but with you. I did the exact same thing.
My buddy had a Harley Sportster, kick start and 4 speed trans. He tosses me the keys and says go take a ride. I climbed on, fire it up, dropped in first and took off. Everything was fine till I hit second. I rolled in a tad too much throttle and off it went. Right then I realized "OH CHIT!!!" now the machine is out of my control and I'm hanging on for dear life, just a passenger along for the ride. The acceleration is throwing me back and the forces causing me to roll on more throttle = more accleration = more throttle...etc.
Finally my brain screams "LET GO OF THE THROTTLE DUMMY!!!!".
I get it stopped and I'm sitting there LMAO!!!!! I drop it back into first and tried it again. This time I was ready for it. I get back to the house and my buddy is standing there asking what just happened. I explained and we both had a good laugh.

I had a GS750 Suzuki when I was ALOT younger. Leaving a friends place in our subdivision. Got on the bike, kicked up the side stand and started riding, turning right our of his driveway. The road had a nice gentle right turn and then switched to a left. I always liked to swing the bike through the S for fun. When I pushed the bike to negotiate the left sweep, the side stand (which was still out) pushed the bike into an upright position and I hit the right curb of the road. The bike slide a bit on the side but stayed on the road. I, on the otherhand, went scooting across someone's front yard on my stomach with my hands out like doing a dive. Feeling stupid, I got up, checked to make sure I was okay and brushed myself off. I looked up, and there was an older lady with her mouth wide open just getting into her car in the driveway who watched the whole thing. Feeling embarassed, I went over to my bike and picked it up (adreniline kicking in now), straightened the signals, got it into neutral, fired it up and drove off. I can just image the story that SHE has been telling over the years!

<---- Was doing some work on the 73 CB450 in my avatar, and a friend was standing on the opposite side holding her upright for me, or so I thought. I turn around to grab a screwdriver when I hear a loud crash behind me. When I turned back around, he had let her fall into a trailer sitting next to the driveway. That side of the gas tank received a dent the size of my fist, but was not punctured. The sad thing was that I was selling it the next day. Knocked the price down a little and she still sold, but I always cringe when that stuff happens.

I can think of numerous times when friends have had trouble with kickstands, but none can amount to this one instance. My friend Brigg and I were out for a joyride. I was on a nighthawk 750, and he was on a BRAND NEW sportster 883. We stopped for gas, and I watched him hop off the bike, and never even attempt to put his kickstand down. I can't even describe the amazed look on his face as he turned around trying to figure out what happened. I ran over and helped him pick it up.... then automatically began tearing up with laughter!!

Even IB Rally Participants drop the bike....

    From todays update at
    http://www.ironbuttrally.com/IBR/2007.cfm?DocID=35

    Unfortunately knocked out Bill Wade:

"Bill Wade is also out. He parked his R1200RT along the side of a highly-crowned road and didn't pay enough attention to the road crown when he got back on the bike and pulled away. He rode the bike right into the ditch. The bike suffered only minor plastic damage, but Bill was unable to get it out of the ditch by himself. He called a tow truck. The tow truck driver was able to pull the bike out of the ditch, but he pulled a front disk brake off the bike in the process."

One week after I bought my first road bike I parked it at a local 7-11 and went inside to get a Slurpee because it was one of those 100 degree days that the Central Valley in California is so well known for, when I came out I seen my beloved CBR 600 Hurricane laying flat on the ground  What happened was the kickstand melted into the semi new asphalt enough to tip my bike over, every time I see the Geico commercial with the gremlins with the magnifying glass it reminds me of that day :tsk:
