Yes, an hour outside Edmonton I had AAA Canada, CAA, come out. They jumped moto. I rode to nearest town...Vegreville. Then Glenn came to trailer me to his home...so I didn't ride that whole way without knowing what was wrong.

Then the oil catastrophe outside of Bozeman, Montana. AAA came and towed me to the Honda dealer there to get that sorted.

Yep, AAA is so useful, especially when traveling far like that and alone.

Yes, I have a Spot lined up to use that a friend has. But I'm wanting to get InReach. You only subscribe for months you need it, you can send and receive text messages on it to communicate with family and emergency personnel. So imma try to find one on Fleabays. :)

I've used them and they bailed my ass out twice but it was AFTER literally screaming at them after multiple calls and being stranded on the side of the road in 90 something degree weather both times. They need GOOD competition badly. I hate those MF's but where else do you go? I think they all used to work for the government.

You can, but it is a waste of money to send it in if you are hoping for a replacement. Done it, with a better case, and they stated "we have determined that the damage to the tire carcass was caused by the user and is not a defect."

That said, I have had many issues (cuts) like that, and worse. Just keep and eye on it, and have fun!

Careful there fella. I used to work for the government and I hate them too.

Around here the AAA affiliate is BCAA. They do not own tow trucks but private tow companies do their calls for them. I can't remember just how many times I have pulled up behind a stall on the freeway to check on well being and the operators have said they have called BCAA who are coming out. Thing is though, usually they had called a couple hours ago. We seldom ever waited more than 20 minutes and when I personally called for a tow truck, private operators, I never waited more than 30 - 45 minutes.

I suspect BCAA calls pay the operator less than private calls. So if the operator has some private calls, they will continue to put those ahead of the BCAA call and only get to the BCAA when either a stink is raised, or they have run out of private calls. Assholes.

When I dealt with someone who needed a tow and they had BCAA, if they were going to call or if I called for them, fortunately I knew the companies that handled BCAA in the area. Si I would call the company direct and request the call. They would not know it is a BCAA call until they arrived on scene and the customer flashed the card. They would get pisses but fukkem.

I have never had BCAA other than I had their house insurance for a few years but moved on when I discovered that their deductible for earthquake damage was 30%. Fuck. 30% would still devastate most people. Guddam insurance companies. I feel sorry for the brokers and people who work for them. They are bastards. I would prefer to sit for a beer with a criminal defense attorney than an executive or director of an insurance company. Even if they paid.

Careful there fella. Try standing in 95 degree heat for over three hours in motorcycle gear. AAA simply sucks and they admitted as much so no point in defending a different company than yours. When I pay for service, there is no excuse for bad service. They agreed with me and compensated me....more than once after more than one incident. It's a systemic problem and when that happens, I make them pay when I can. I did and they did.

Also, your government sucks. So does mine. More than one swamp needs to be drained.

I think we may have a misunderstanding happening here. BCAA is an affiliated company of AAA. I don't have .much good to say about them. But I agree. Our government sucks the big kahuna.u

Geeze, thanks for letting me know RVFR and Duckie!
I have the time automatically off for the holiday break. With finishing my last master's class project last night, I thought what a fun way to celebrate...go to go somewhere warm on moto. Looks like I may just need to stay home and cuddle a fairing. Haha
Thanks for looking out for me, I really appreciate it!

It's all good. Perhaps the only people that really like government are the ones governing that can never be removed.....at least in the U. S.

Trump wants term limits and so do I. That will happen after hell freezes over.

I agree our governments may be fucked up. I do like many aspects of your government over ours. We are a Parliamentary Monarchy when you are a democracy. Same ideals but work different.

If you take away the lucrative pensions elected officials get I wold totally agree with limited terms. The good part of limited terms is that a person would be less likely lured up to the diamond crusted trough prepared and maintained by special interest groups if they were there for a shorter period of time. I believe that is a big problem there. Here too but not as evident as down there.

There are hundred of thousands of government employees who are dedicated workers. Too bad the elected ones were not as dedicated to what they do as opposed to what they get. As far as Insurance companies go, they are nothing more than legalized extortionist. Fucking bastards.

    Ride on Brudda.

Well, think Bass Pro bought Cabelas recently. See what happens there, however, running a sale on the DeLorne InReach that seems like pretty good deal at $70 off. Had to read up on that little dude and sounds pretty cool. Assume you are just wanting the InReach SE and not Explorer with maps and all.

Yeah, read lot of others are good with the SE too and use their phone or other device for the maps/navigation since bigger screens, features etc. I think that is about the main difference between the two. Hope you find one on the cheap.

Agree but don't be so kind. "Fucking bastards" is a compliment to them. As well, I don't think the typical government worker down here knows the definition of the word "dedicated". I live in a "government infested town" and they are leaches to society. Blood sucking lemmings that think they actually "work" at a "job". DRAIN THE SWAMP.

Anne, are you saying the tire, with the coin in the cut, has 5000 miles on it?

    That cannot be possible.

I seldom, ok, never get 5000 miles out of a motorcycle back tire.

    Yes lolzzz...

I live in KS. No fun roads.
    Slab everywhere. Not big.

Tires usually last me at least 10,000 miles...up to 12,000 on a set.

I'm actually really disappointed in this set. Won't be getting these again. Squared off within a couple thousand miles. Unheard of for me.

Wow...... good for you. Wonder what im doing wrong.....cant be a heavy right hand.

This is my current back tire. Pic taken a couple of minutes ago. 3050 miles. It was a Pilot Power 3. <Those are great tires, tho. I could touch pegs, even with the curb feelers off. Very stable. Rode nice. Stayed round.

I ve never had a Bridgestone that I liked.

Haha...heavy right hand I'd say!! Glad to hear what you think of the 3s. That's what I want...staying round. But I get that would be hard in these parts.

My next set will be either a PP3 or PR4 rear/PP3 front or Angels.

I loved the PR2s...but not very sporty, but I still had a few sets of them. I was very happy with the longevity I got out of them.

The full PR4 set sucked, but not as much as these Bridgestones.

The front PR4 scalloped bad...never had that before...too much unnecessary siping IMO.

Hated my first set of T30 Evo which were the regular ones. Poor wear.

Loving me the GT-Spec version thiugh. Mucho better. Great on all weather and fantastic grip for a ST tire.
