Hello all, I am trying to find a Clymer for my newly purchased VFR 800. All I can seem to find is the VFR800FI. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I looked at the Clymer site and found nothing. When I went into a store I was told that there would be a substantial difference and not to get the FI one, but then again, I was talking to a mechanic and I think he just wanted me to bring the bike to him for maintenance. Any advice?

    Thanks!

PS: This is a first ever motorcycle for me, so don't bag if it's a dumb question ;) Thanks!

If you have a genuine 1998 VFR800 it has to be the FI model. There are no VFR800s that are not fuel injected.

An alternative manual is the Haynes. Good and detailed and I think it's a fair bit cheeper than the Clymer.

    Yep, you are right, thanks.

This is my first motorcycle -- ever. The sales manager at RidersChoice in Sunnyvale, CA said it wasn't FI. It wasn't until I replaced the seat with a Corbin that I found the book under the seat, and that confirmed it. Well, that and seeing your post ;)

Anyway, thanks! I bought the Clymer ;)

    Cheers,
