Was looking for heated grips with a thermostat for my 99VFR. Any idea which one is ideal. I was looking for some on EBay but apparently they come in different sizes... so what size should I be looking for?? ???

Forget heated grips, get some Gerbing heated glove liners.. less electric power draw, more heating directly next to your skin, and on the back of you hands where you most need heat anyway.

My glove liners plug right into my heated jacket liner, heats up chest, back, along my arms and hands, total draw less than 100 watt.. 22 watt for the glove liners.

    Heated Grips

Based on your personal first hand (pun intended) experience, if a person still wants heated grips rather than bulky heated gloves, which brand would you recommend for bars that already have Throttlemeisters on them, please? Any brands from which you would stay away? Thank you in advance.

I have a set of Oxford HotGrips on my '98 VFR. I *love* them. They work fine even with the Widder vest, chaps, and arm extensions. The only problem with the Oxfords is that they can get TOO hot after a while. If you are cruising along at higher rpms where the alternator is putting out the juice the grips will heat up substantially. I often find myself running them at the lowest settings to keep from overheating my hands. These are an entire grip, not a sliver that goes under one.

For the record, summer sport gloves at around 34degrees at over 80mph, still nice 'n toasty without all the bulk. :) No, I don't work for the company, but I liked them enough that I immediately picked up another set for the R6. They ran me about $65 at a local shop which isn't the cheapest, but they work well.
