My son had it to have happen that we needed to make a run up to the BMW/Ducati dealer. So while he was a way sorting his stuff out, I went strolling. Now mind you we are having some lousy heavy rains, so things where slow inside, yet this salesman comes over asking if he could be of some assistants, we chatted, looked over some Duc models. I ask when the super sport was coming to the dealers, he didn't have an answer, then looked at some models over chatting about what makes a good all arounder, one in particular was the new 1200 monster R. I sat on it and it felt good m very light 398 dry so the sticker says, then he mention that this was on close out dealer demo 016 for a mere $14K, new is $189K, I, ok, cool, then it dawned on him they just brought in a one owner 012. He went back and 15 minutes later puled it out, Wow, it had some nice up grades, he rolled it out under an awning , fired it up, O-my Nice. Had I had a extra $11k, it would have followed me home.

Coincidentally I went by the Ducati dealer today, as it was literally around the corner from the D-Store (Sorry no size 104 or 52 Long). They did have a few great deals on suits a little larger and smaller but alas, nothing in your size, sorry. Anyway, I digress, the guy at Newport Ducati said they'll be getting the SS in early spring.

Not sure how the distribution works but Newport seems to move Ducatis, so I imagine they'll get one of the first allotments. Crossing my fingers as I really want to test ride one. Still don't think I'll trade in my 95 SS though, so going to have to figure something out if I end up liking it enough to buy one.

;) You know it. There's just something very alluring about the sound of those L Twin Ducs, though I well say I missed the dry clutch sound, but alas, those are now not available. Still though it has a nice bark. Yes, it wouldn't take much for me to swing a leg over the Super sport either. So Like OOTV, I'd need to figure just how to get one to fit "if" ;) With that, I find after a few reads the Ape Tuono is it's arch rival :)

In regards to the Supersport, I rode my 99 VFR to the Long Beach motorcycle show. I made a beeline to the Supersport and sat on it first. Very similar riding position, but a narrower tank and my legs didn't feel like they wanted to splay out as on my Viffer. I wish it had the 959 engine in it, vs the 939 bit it's still plenty of power for the street.

Hmm, definitely should take that into consideration. I do love to go fast.

I've been lucky so far on the Viffer...getting out of the only stop I've ever had. This could get me in trouble.

    That's some hawt ride there.
I'd need to modify it to Unleash it's full factory power. Then it would be worthy of a ride.

Now that I think about it, with the name Supersport, it should have had a detuned 1299 in it...
But, the engine it's got would get much better mpg...

Hmm, didn't catch the engine being used in the super sport, just figured what ever Duc installs won't be bad. In that regard if it's the same 939 that's in their Hyper then boy Ducati will need to put a better sounding exhaust on. There's was a couple dudes checking out the 016 hyper when we pulled in it wasn't at that time raining so they where putting around in the parking lot, I have to say it sounded so Honda, not near the bark that is so typical Ducati with stock exhaust.

I had a customer come in yesterday to get his bike fixed and though it wasn't a Monster, it sure did tug at the heart strings. Very nice looking machine and boy did it sound, well, siiiiiiiigggghhhh.
