I wonder how many of my internal organs I need to sell to get that?

I'd recommend saving your organs for something with more hp than an 8th gen - according to this article the USA model only has 101 hp and is rev limited to 9,400 rpm. To make matters worse, the optional "sports kit" to obtain the full "closed course only" 212 hp isn't available for sale in the USA - and I would assume not in Canada either :(

If you've got a 100+k for a machine....not being able to buy the race kit in the USA isn't going to be a huge issue for you. Comparing that to an 8th gen is hardly relevant, even at a choked down 101 hp. I will say the RVT and NSR750 sitting next to it, sure do make that a nice hall of fame.

It will when Honda voids your warranty, but then you could probably afford to just buy a new one if it blows up - lol. Actually, I wonder if the bikes in Europe and Australia are still warranted by Honda if the owner adds the authorized sports kit over there ? I would assume so, but maybe not since the bike is no longer street legal? I know that the non-street legal Ninja H2R is not warranted by Kawasaki unlike the street legal H2.

I'm a card carrying Honda fanboy, but even I would say that the asking price for this bike is a complete joke - no matter how much MotoGP DNA Honda says it has! And I'm sorry but no matter what their press relations team says, buying it will NOT turn you into Marc Marquez - lol. They need to produce a 1,000cc V4 SuperSport in the CBR1000RR price range! For the price of the RCV213-S I would much rather buy the updated 2017 Ninja H2 Carbon AND a new Porsche 911 Turbo to go with it, both of which would blow away the USA version of the RCV!

Would rather have the full power European model. If I could afford it.

Gigem, can you please point me to where you found that quote? There's nothing on Honda's USA website that speaks to the warranty or lack thereof that I'm aware of. And the official rc213v-s.com website seems to have been taken down.
According to an article at VisorDown (see link below) which references the old official site, it states: "And, in the small print, the fitment of the sport kit voids the warranty. It’s quite likely that this is why the kit isn’t offered in America."

Thus, if we can believe the article, Honda does provide a warranty on the RCV213-S, at least until you equip it with the sports kit - which by the way costs about the same as an 8th gen!

    http://www.visordown.com/news/new-bikes/us-spec-honda-rc213v-s-makes-less-power-than-a-cbr600rr

EDIT: Nevermind, I just figured out that your quote about no warranty was written by the eBay seller of the bike in question. Even though the seller appears to be a Honda dealer of some sort, that's clearly just boilerplate mumbo jumbo that the seller probably uses for all their eBay sales, and is not indicative of Honda's manufacturer warranty IMO.

there are about a dozen of these on cycletrader.com across the country, all listed around $185k. whether those dealers actually have one on the showroom floor is anyone's guess.

The dealers are probably hot to sell them. They own them. Manufacturers do not put bikes on consignment that I know of.

Well yes and no. I doubt any of these expensive one ofs would be. Honda does floor bikes though, meaning the dealer is paying a have it in the show room fee of sorts, not very many dealers these days buy their stock, though that's where you get your good deals at, when there floored they really don't have the final say, hence why all the back and forth. and no long test rides usually just around the block, once they hit a certain mileage there's some more fees the dealer do not want. I worked part time for a Honda dealer where he owned the bikes, way easier to work deals.

Granted having a bike or bikes like that on a showroom floor will attract potential customers. If you have a list or information on how a dealer goes about getting any manufacturer of motorcycles to get that manufacturer to send or loan them bikes or for that matter any of the branded items or farkles, for gosh sakes please share the info so we can get the best deals. I bet the dudes from all the places that are members here would really appreciate it.

Even Harleys count if this is true.

Says the auction ended a couple hours ago and that "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." What does that mean in English? Its been a few years since I bought anything on eBay so I'm not up on my eBay speak.

Did anyone catch what the highest bid was before it ended? Did the seller end it prematurely or was that the scheduled ending time? Did the reserve ever get met? I wanted to see what price it would fetch.

It likely means he didn't get a good bid for it. I, for one, wouldn't want a bike scaled down in HP that just sat in a garage all the time.

    Nope.
What it means is that the seller pulled the auction, and that is all. eBay considers the "Item No Longer Available" a valid way to exit.
The *actual* reason could be any one of many, including the possibility that there was never any real item available to sell! (not likely here)

All you have to do to see the bidding activity is to click on the [0 bids] button which shows up after all bids have been canceled, and the auction ended.

    http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=192028441687&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565

That should get you there for this one. I see that there was a top number of $190K.
Obviously, the Honda dealer is/was looking for something above the $184K MSRP!
