Good for you Grumpy! NZ looks like a fantastic place to ride. I've been a longtime subscriber of motovlogger NZBeeker down there and he's got some incredible vids of NZ with his 1994 purple CBR1000F (Hurricane?), here's a link to one of his vids so you can check his channel out if you haven't seen it before:

Good to hear you are happy there Grumps but from what my son tells me you need close to a million bucks to buy a pretty ordinary house in Auckland, something about not enough land around Auckland they can open up for housing

Yeah you are right about the house prices in Auckland

we sold our house in Auckland 9.5 years ago for $525,000 and it has a current valuation of just over $1.25 million
I should of stayed here and ridden the wave

But then we would of always been "What if" nothing ventured nothing gained , had to go to OZ to remove that niggle

We will be looking to Buy in the Waikato region Approx 120 km's south of Auckland and smack in the middle of some of the best bike roads in the country

Average house prices we will be looking at will be around $450,000 NZ and hope fully we can still catch a ride on the property price wave and then in a couple of years sell and move further out onto a small acreage block to set up for retirement

We would like to be come a bit more self sufficient and grow a bit of our food get a couple of chickens etc etc

Luckily for me there is a shortage of Heavy vehicle operators here in NZ so maybe I will find myself behind the wheel of a big rig once again

Well it has been a busy little time moving back home and things are falling into place well

First up the difference between the 2004 and 2008 Vfr800's that I have had the pleasure of owning is noticeable after travelling just over 4000km's since getting Home to NZ

The 08 is much smoother at slow speed and the vtec engagement point is greatly smoothed and this particular one has no hunting issues at part throttle whilst cruising at speed

We have managed to buy a small house without needing a mortgage BUT it does need a bit of a freshen up, should be a walk in the park

The Mrs has found temp work as a legal secretary which she seems to be enjoying

And I managed to find a job driving a Truck and Trailer carting bulk hi volume products ranging from woodchip, palm kernels and others

This is what I will be operating at a total weight of 58 ton, product dependant

    my truck4.jpg

Will be working a 3 days /3 nights/3 off shift which makes days off in the week all mine for riding WooHoo

You've certainly had a busy month Grumps. Sounds like things are looking though. Best of luck, and enjoy the ride.
PS. Really like that charcoal grey color on your Moto.
