The top 10 reasons why Harley Riders don't wave at other motorcyclists

    10) Much to cool to acknowledge non Harley riders
    9) Too busy daydreaming about owning a real motorcyle
    8) Engine too weak to handle the added wind resistance of a waving hand
    7) German shepard in back of pick up truck with harley easily upset by rapid hand movements.
    6) Are you kidding ? risk there lives by trying to control a Harley with only one hand.
    5) Too Busy humming "Born to be Wild" while fantasizing about being peter fonda.
    4) No time to wave while thinking about the best way to pay for next
order of genuine Harley accesories including official HD
calculator to be used by the millions of Harley riding CPA's.
    3) If I had to tell you , you wouldn't understand anyway.
    2) They can't see you due to half shell helmet falling over eyes.
    1) They think we are actually trying to draw their attention to the
parts falling off their bikes and they are sick and tired of it.

Pretty much number 10. but another one, they don't have the nerve or skill set to let go of the bars. IDK it's really a matter of don't give a flying F I'm cool.

Funny, always fun to pick on them. But in reality in The East Bay area just about every H-D waves, most of them first when they on the back roads, not much around town.

the wave I encounter 90% of the time is the finger spread. means as close as they can to letting go with out letting go.

I can tell those that have their shit together probably have other bikes, they wave doing the low hand roll sticking a thump out. But that's a rare occasion

Just about all of them wave at me around here. Now, when I'm leaning over doing "over the speed limit a tad", I'm not waving to anybody....LOL!!

When I'm on the Goldwing and riding with my cousin who has a HD everyone waves, just not at me. About 80% wave when I'm on the Ducati and much less than 50% when I'm on the VFR. I imagine for many it's that they don't want to be around people who have a different view of the world.

Doesn't matter at all , just a funny little piece I found. Few Harley riders wave at me when sitting upright, standard style, almost none wave if I am crouched sport bike style.
If it weren't for a little bit of V4 rumble coming out the pipes.....might be that none would wave.

When it comes to waving , around here I either get the full hand out at an angle (Sometimes with the slow down motion) or pretty much nothing at all.
