    ok i have a white VFR750F 1987.
its my first bike and i only past my test 3 weeks ago

today on an overtake the van pulled over a stuck his arm out and smashed my left mirror the whole arm snapped.

but im not sure what type of mirror i can fit on there.
i have looked on the net but cant seem to find any for my model.
and to be honest i would like longer ones as i can only see my arms most of the time :)

    hope somebody can help

Well Stevo, I think that you need to track down this jackass and give him a firm beatdown! Some other guys on here might be able to answer your question, as I know that some have taken mirrors from the 5th gen (like mine) and put them on earlier gens.

Hell, I hope you reported it to the police. Then still go and visit his company as soon as you can. Expressing how his antics almost killed you.

I am assuming that your overtaking him did not almost cause him to crash and that is why he was mad.

No i was overtaking and in the other lane, the road was clear ahead but he came over the center line and hit out and caught my mirror. i almost lost control of the bike, and my mirror was flapping around so i had to pull over ahead and then he passed me so i got the company of the side of the van.

Damn, he sounds like a nut case. Try your best to track him down at his company, as I am sure you will. Did you call the police? I know you probably don't have a ton of information to go on, however, if it is a smaller company, with not as many vans (not like UPS or FedEX or something with 10,000 trucks) you might be able to track him down. Just report the time, place, vehicle description, and so on.

Hi just to let you know all sorted i found the company whom owns the van.
they couldn't be more helpful they will pay for the repair.
so im happy with that. And the guy will be suspended from work until further notice.
They have asked me if i was going to contact the police, and as they were so nice and its not there fault, I have decided to let it drop.
they knew who it was as he broke two of his fingers doing it,
he could not offer them any reason why he did it apart from All bikers are ar**holes.

So DANIMAL thank you for your help but they are getting it sorted for me
    all the best St3vo

Glad you got it sorted out. The company is probably scared shitless and thinks you will sue. I would have reported that jackass to the police, because I am sure he will do something to a biker again....in a different way maybe, and the more shit on his record the better.

Should have had them throw in a couple new tires as well!
