I don't think anyone was happy to "let slide" any of the negative things Trump did or said in the last 40 years. But many saw the attempted 10th hour character assassination via smear as a series of 1. usually out-of-context quotes, words which a high percentage of both men and women worldwide have used. 2. accusations; stories without corroboration, questionable for veracity. or 3. ancient in nature, stale information which failed to be news when current, against a man who is older, likely wiser.

The marginalization which you suppose for anyone not like himself is a media and leftist manufactured scare tactic. We'll see who gets "the shaft". He is a man. Only time will tell if he hopes to be a despot, as some prophesy. But it is easy to see that the media and pundits are using a crystal ball which has no magic. They see and say what they want, not what is really true or likely.

The other candidate, said to be "most qualified" came with untenable baggage, in the form of lifetime-practiced greed for both power and money so deeply seated that literally no self-benefiting act was out of bounds. A private 'net server is out of reach for FOIA requests; what other reason could there have been for it to exist? Selling the USA's uranium reserves to Russia? And the $$$ roll into a certain slush fund, hiding as a "Foundation". BIG, BIG Money, earned how?

As Secretary of State, Clinton appointed a person named Bill to oversee and administer a worldwide outpouring of funds ($Billions!) to rebuild Haiti after the devastating earthquake. I'll tell you who I want "my country back" from:
The power elite political "ruling class", particularly the left-leaning globalist view Soros types who plan what is "best for society", no matter the cost in human suffering, while it affects them negatively not at all. They get richer. They ensured that corporations became "people", while human beings are expendable pawns to be pit against each other as wars and conflicts are triggered endlessly in the name of "spreading democracy". Great results, eh? What we have gotten is an all-time high flow of legitimate and illegitimate refugees streaming into parts of the world where cultures, customs, and beliefs are polar opposites. The destabilization of large regions of the globe greatly benefit some, who bestow part of their largess on "foundations" and individuals via engagements for $17,500/minute speeches.

It is those, who, via policies claimed to be "humane", have in the past and now continue to alter the physical and fiscal demographics of the U.S. population. (I started to type "citizens", but that seems to lack accuracy, and be diminishing as a descriptor for those who live in the USA with each passing year). Polarization is the undeniable by-product. In 50 years of political awareness, I cannot recall it ever being close to this bad. I'm GLAD she didn't get in. She'd have just tried to double down on the root causes of what is jamming this country up already. A social engineer, aka SJW is Not needed in the White House any longer!
8 years of "change" by the manufactured "coalition builder" have left race relations worse than they were 40+ years ago. And the vaunted healthcare program forced down the throats of the populace is toppling under it's own weight.

Yep. And he is not owned by or beholden to anyone, such as people and companies who, via contributions and bestowment of privilege, garner favor from those political pros whose pockets they have lined. The Fix is decidedly NOT in.

Fed-up Americans got an outsider to the highest office in the nation. Trust me, he would not be the very first choice of anyone I know who put him there. But now, this year, this time, he was the Only One who COULD get there. And another chance might not come along, ever.

Stop watching TV. The media is bought, plain and simple. "Polls" and "News" programs had Hillary winning in a landslide, as late as 7PM ET Tuesday. The whining and dire predictions for the future continued nearly unabated Wednesday. I was aghast at the language used by people I once thought of as journalists. Gloom and Doom. The END of the USA as we know it. The stock markets are crashing! Geez. If you believe all that they present as "fact" then you too are bought, without any personal financial gain to offset the brainwashing. If you view it merely as "entertainment", well then that might be okay.

I have said too much. But I will post it anyway.
Politics is a terrible subject for a special interest forum.

At our level most of what you wrote doesn't apply. The votes have been cast and the deed did. My money is on the dude that will be supplying our POTUS elect with buckets for his lists of things to do.

I, for one, am not a majority of any conceived group of voters. I voted for the reasons I voted and nobody can accurately categorize me in with any group. I am an individual doing my own thing and screw those that think they're smart enough to categorize me in with any group of people other than white, educated, critical thinkers that rides a VFR now and then. I'm happy to be thrown in with that group. Secret balloting spawns a lot of geniuses that think they can figure people out and they obviously missed badly......again.

 

At least our American neighbor's have the courage to hopefully make changes for the better. We as Canadians do not voice out opinions enough and our politicians know we are a gullible society and they just keep rewarding us with higher bills and more taxes. Anyone who voted for Trudeau should be hung .. what a useless ineffective leader ...Pathetic ... I appreciate your points, but I gotta say a couple things:
1. You're right that DJT is not beholden to anyone. That includes the people of the United States. I refuse to believe that he will act in anyone's interest besides his own. And if you think Hillary Clinton is greedy, consider that she has spent a lot more time to make a lot less money than him, and the whole while she has been working to help OTHER people, not her own massive corporation.

2. You have got to be joking when you say that problems in race relations are Barack Obama's fault. And to imply that he hasn't made enough change in his 8 years because of any reason other than the extremely well documented congressional stonewalling from the republican controlled congress that has been in effect for literally his entire presidency must be a joke too.

3. Complaining about the TV news being biased is like ordering food you don't like. Nobody is making you do it and there are many places to get real unbiased journalism besides the TV. Why complain about something you don't even expose yourself to? You seem to know how it works, pundits say whatever will draw the most attention, it's up to the viewer to determine what is BS.

The media does not care what is just or accurate. They do not care what is truth and best for our people. They care what brings forth controversy and viewers. he cost to their advertisers is directly proportional to the size of their audience. They are money hogs. The scream about the publics right to know yet they themselves are the world's worse censors. They decide what we should see, read or hear based on how much advertising dollars they can bring in. I drastically more confidence in our elected officials than I do in our media. That looks really strange in type. Me declaring confidence in politicians.

I just thought it was a funny meme that belonged here. I agree with you, actually. I'd have never voted for him. He did have a few good ideas, but to pay for it all everyone would have to have been taxed 50%.

 

Never really like the tern "celebrity", I know I'm not celebrating them! Just because they're in the movies playing someone smart doesn't make them so.
