Did you vote in the poll? I only see one vote (mine). You would fall into the 3rd category of non-American, although I guess you're still a North American - lol.

Australian VFR, so "Deluxe" in US parlance. With side-pieces on the rear mudguard, so does that make it Ultra-Deluxe? ;-)

Please forgive my ignorance of Aussie parlance, but are you saying you've got something attached to the side of what we call the accessory "rear tire hugger", or are you just talking about what we call the oem "saddlebags"? Either way, yes it sounds like it could be the rare and elusive Ultra-Deluxe model, but I'm pretty sure they only made them in pearl white :tongue-new:

Apparently no one in North America or Europe has the bits in the yellow circle.

The Mazda has the plates "NZRUGB." Now, if I could just get other road-users to stop trying to tackle me on the freeway. Clearly a Penalty since I don't have the ball!

Base model here. I had the dealer put on a center stand that cost me nothing (they put it on or I walk), I've never heard a positive comment on the apparently botched traction control system on a low HP bike, I do remember to cancel my turn signals, the front suspension from the factory is fine with me and my riding style, the rear suspension is easily adjustable with a screw driver and spanner wrench, and I've had heated grips on two other bikes. Heated grips are nice but don't really keep hands warm on a cold day. They just help with genuine winter gloves. I've never had ABS brakes and don't really believe in them in both cars and bikes. They may be great for lesser skilled drivers/riders. I had to do a genuine emergency stop last weekend on my bike and it went fine (except for being livid with a stupid "driver"). So, nothing about the deluxe is worth paying for to me. I'm considering taking the center stand off now that I have Pit Bull front and rear stands which everyone that works on a bike needs IMO. So, bottom line, to each their own and heck with "this bike is better than that bike" commentary.

Learn something new every day, never knew I was a lesser skilled driver/rider as my car and bike have ABS. Makes me wonder how I managed to keep my ZX10R on the road during my ownership. Sheer luck I guess.

All you guys driving cars built after '67 are a bunch of pansies because real men who are skilled drivers don't need cars with seat belts - but I suppose they might be okay for a lesser skilled driver to have :playful:

Ha, ABS, ya only may need to use it once....before there was ABS we pumped the brakes, before there were power brakes, we pushed harder, before there was power steering we made sure the car was moving while trying to turn the wheel, before there were starters we cranked the engine manually, before there were cars, we fed and groomed our horses, when they didn't work we shot them....how far back should I go......ABS could make a difference, coming home to wife and kids, and enjoying my sports.....ill take as much technology as I can get.

I remember standing next to my father too...I also remember a HS class mate, she was sitting in the center next to her boyfriend...things happened and her head was imbedded in the rear view mirror....none of he girls sat in the middle of that bench seat again....seat belts came along soon there after.

Then I'll be designing a back up camera system for bikes soon as well as a self-parking bike. I expect you to be my first customer.....:smile-new:

The biggest safety improvement that could possibly be made would be to design a drivers license test requiring sophomore college level thinking abilities. That would take the morons off the road and make for a license that had to be earned instead of getting one as a "right". Other countries do this. There's a reason people don't speed in Austraiia, hog the inside lane, or drink and drive. They get much more than a slap on the hand. But, pragmatically, I don't advocate Nazi enforcement, at least for me, because I can't ride the speed limit. My bike just won't do it.......

We should offer morons a one way trip to the moon and this country's population would drop to around 60 million. Just some new ideas for "the greater good". :smile-new:

I opted for a new 2014 base (VFR800F) as I got it for roughly 2k under list. I also purchased the factory saddlebags, shop manual, heated grips and center stand.
