Can anyone identify the hole in the middle of this picture? It had an oily and sticky substance coming out of it this morning went I got the bike out for a ride. It almost seemed like a mix of oil and antifreeze. Coolant is bit low but oil was full. I changed the oil and it was clean, no contamination and the same with the coolant.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks for any advice!

    Rob

That is a drain hole for accumulated gunk that forms between the "V" to escape from

The fact that Gunk is running out would indicate you may have a small weep or leak of both coolant and or oil that will need to be sorted

The end of the coolant hoses may need the hose clamps tightening or maybe a gasket is weeping

Best to get in there and clean it up and then run the bike for a while to see exactly where it is coming from

I searched through the service manual trying to find that hole. A couple pictures showed the hole but no mention made of its purpose. Thanks Grump.

Thanks Grumpy and Randy! Not that the build up there is a good thing but it is much better than the alternatives. After further consideration, I think the hole must have been plugged as there was also a lot of dirt in there. Completely dry today.
