My chopped and bobbed XS 650, I call her my "Wife". But then one day...along came my "Mistress", or as I also call her, "Red Jenny", my '90 VFR.

I actually succombed to superstition and named my bikes but ironically I never really use them. I typically say to the wife or my riding partners, "I think I'll take the 'Duc' today" or "I'll probably take the "01 for this ride as I have to do some maintenance on the '09 before I ride it again". If the car is involved, it's typically "I think I'll take the car today"

For the record, the names are: 'Bella Rosa' for the Ducati, 'Natalia' for the '09 and 'Osprey' for the '01. The car...hmm, always seems to be a second thought. Never named it!

When I posted this. You are the person that I was looking for to be the Black Spade of the poll! You did an amazing job in your response! I have to meet you sometime. Annemarie was great as well as the others responding! And I really don't know what IMAO means but I am sure it is funny as shit as well. I don't do the text lingo much.

VFRgot Mine is also "Jeni" I just don't call her the red one due to attitude after doing so!;-) But when every bike I have had if it gives me trouble I just call it "Bitch". And I buy better riding gear afterward.

Hey Ducc, What I did not say earlier is that I did not name the bike after a great dog like you. But I love it! I should have posted on the thread (why is your call or post name what it is.) I use bubba as a name tag everywhere due to my lost dog. His name was bailey, but I called him (Bubba and Fathead) depending on what kind of crap good or bad he was doing! Bailey did not fit my caliber of names for a Male dog and rarely called him that. The ex named him. I didn't think Fathead was something I wanted to call myself in emails and logins. Love again your choice and the reason why!;-)

I have always been of the opinion that unless you designed it and built it from scratch yourself....it already has a name. It's like the person with two first names, always seems kinda odd...take Ricky Bobby for example....I have a phobia of doing it because this is what NASCAR guys do with their cars.

    Thanks bubba.
It had 30000 km on it when I brought it, about 38000 when I sold it 2 years ago and it's probably done 500km since then.
I know the bloke that brought it, one of those guys that does 2 charity rides a year.
I'd love to ride it again but he isn't getting a swap for this [IMG]
Oh and I haven't named this bike and doubt I will, I love it like a brother though.
A couple days after returning from Phillip island I was in the shed and could have hugged it I was so happy with how it performed.
Kinda like this without the coolaid [IMG]

Thanks Bubba, I'm glad some people found my opinion humorous as it was intended.
I'm always interested in meeting fellow riders from all places and countries. I go to Southern Utah about twice a year., and I plan on spending Christmas -or the holidays for all the politically correct people- in St. George this year. If you're close enough let me know and let's get together.
By the way, LMAO= Laughing My Ass Off.

I'll see what I can find for you. Just in a basic search, The Tongan Death Grip began as a hug thing and soon got out of hand.

If your little dudes start doing any of this before the bell rings, be wary..

And that fucker who named the Mayflower. WTF was up with that?

What happens when you sell your named bike to a new owner. Does a legal name change have to take place?

Some will name items they really like after someone who they have in a place of honour in their hearts My grandfather was Charles. We always called him Chae Chae. I think that shortened nickname has Scottish origins.

Then again, I often say I ride "the bitch" like a "cheap two bit hoar"... I dunno!
