I can't defend my actions after the event, Bubba, but it sure did feel good to scream at her and tell her she's a dumbass among other things. I had a Baby Glock in my jacket pocket but that doesn't come out unless there's a purposeful deadly threat to me or my property according to the local castle laws. Being on a motorcycle seems to bring out the crazies when we're trying to mind our own business. Just a reminder to keep my guard up and be alert. America seems to be dumbing down. Anybody can drive and just anybody does drive. Intelligence tests need to be given before any driving test is given but that won't get any politician re-elected. Term limits!!

That's exactly why I don't group ride but once in a blue moon and it's with people I know well.

I'll group ride, but in a small group of 3-5 riders maximum - usually my regular touring buddies from OH and VA.

I tried a few rallies but they scare the crap out of me until everyone finally breaks out into their own little groups. When I ride in a group, we're usually all on comms as well so we know what's going on.

Mixed feelings on group rides. So long as everyone in the group understands the concepts of safe group rides all is fine but that is seldom the case in larger group rides. I have a small group I like to ride with. Seems we all anticipate each other's moves. Surprising though. Considering the size of the group, I have found that the rides at R3 seem to be gracefully safe. At least if you discount two of them meeting each other a few years back. Both are accomplished riders and I wasn't on that branch of the ride that year. I was riding with the pansies and old farts.

Riding in groups with familiar and/or well disciplined riders can be fun and uneventful, riding with those who are less skilled and/or "hot shots" can be quite frightening. The biggest problem comes in when rider ego takes precedence over just being part of the group. I can't recall a ride where the ego has gotten in the way of an enjoyable ride. I'm sure I've been on rides with someone with a big ego but I guess it was either so long ago or I wasn't in proximity of them to make it a memory. One of the other thing that can be troublesome, is riders who do not maintain their bikes. Although road hazards or other unforeseen issue can come into play, getting a flat or a low side for instance, but those who do not maintain their bikes often cause delays or rides to end early.

Similar, to the ego rider situation, I cannot recall too many instances of riders ending the ride early due to their lack of having a well maintained machine. There was one occasion where one rider had his battery die while we were just barely halfway through the ride. Although this can happen to anyone of us, particularly being on a VFR  but what kind of got me a little miffed was he basically admitted he was having battery issue before the ride but went on the ride anyway!

On another part sorta on subject, I've pretty much got my fill of groups rides. at first it was for the comradery, and thinking how difficult can this be, really? LOL, was I taken back. yes I've even organized rides where 50 plus would show up, talk about crazy, broke them up into like 8-10 folks LOL even at that it was nutz. Today, Ha I'm to old and crotchety to handle Lallygaggers . But this year I ran into a new thing getting around those group rides when i come up from behind them. mind you 90% are HD just strolling along, those are the dangerous ones, never sure if passing them is a good idea.

Strolling along means wide open for them....; ) I pass them at will but with wide open throttle so it's over with before they know what happened.

Congrats! Miles add up when you ride them! :thumb:

BTW, be prepared to drop coin. Rukka is not on the cheap list! Good part is that Revzilla sells Rukka.

    Thanks, OOTV! :)

Duckie had mentioned Revzilla and Cycle Gear are sister companies.

Revzilla is my online outlet of choice and we have a Cycle Gear in town. Maybe they can cut me a deal on Rukka.

I'll need some for Alaska for sure.

Gloves like boots are so subjective to get em right and for the money they fetch these days always good to try emon first so yea head to Cylcegear for sure. From that if you don't like the price, you'll know what fits and then you can hit up the good ole inter net, ebay here is a good thing. LOL yea was just like when I walked out into the garage there was a WTH moment. had a thought maybe opening up the doors and widows and fire them off. think I'll wait for the weekend.

The solution of that problem is to figure oot if you want that bunch in front of, or behind you. Consider that with some of those gaggles, some actually fall over from lack of momentum.

Well me thinks to have a meeting before the ride ta have everyone on the same page--- at R3 it was a given that everyone knew the rules and did--- being that was the first for me over 5 riders
    Great time EXCEPT for Stuka
Speaking of him, anyone heard lately from the stud muffin in Frisco?

Cycle Gear and Revzilla are owned by the same company and are slowly starting to share the same product lines. Just recently CG added Schuberth helmets and Revzilla started to carry Stockton tools. Not sure how some of these product lines get distributed. Some companies are particularl about where their gear gets sold. Usually the high end makers want less dealers so competition is less and profit margins stay high. It also means less discounting, so there's that to contend with.

That being said, if CG does have Rukka, see if they will do it without sales tax, as that is essentially what Revzilla would get you. My friend actually got CG to match an Amazon price on a Cardo Packtalk system. I was able to with Revzilla as well on a power controller, as their criteria is usually based on the seller being an authorized reseller of the product line and not a special one off part. I.e. Similar product but different SKU numbers.
