My neighbors compliment my deck all the time. They say it's the best looking one the area.

Got more chance of being killed by a kangaroo than a spider out here

They killed a snake recently up in QLD, they said it was at least 50 years old,I think they said it was born when JFK was President, I forget how big it was but over 20 feet long and weighed over a hundred kg's. No 100% on these figures but it could have been bigger

Somebody at sometime loosed some Boa Constrictors in Florida. They did what snakes do.. The guys from Florida can probably chime in on that. The survival guys when I was in the military used to hunt rattlers and have a snake feed a couple of times a year. Probably now, they are reprocessed by one of the Trump conglomerates as snake oil.

Deadly snakes and spiders are a normal part of life when living in the bush in Australia.
Road kill like roo's, emu's and wombats are a much greater threat when on the road, especially on a motorcycle.
I hit and killed a wallaby (smaller version of a kangaroo) on my triumph tiger last year but managed to stay on the bike, very lucky I was.

Never been bitten by a redback - but I dated a redhead back in college who loved to ... ah, never mind :kiwi-fruit:

There are some scary spiders in Florida too - in fact I had a problem with one just the other day - the little bugger would just not let go of my VFR :biggrin-new:

Billy the thing about that snake they killed up in QLD was a King brown, I think they are the second most deadly snake in Aus and that snake would have had enough venom to kill a small town

American rattlers are good eating. The cleaning and filleting is similar to prepping a catfish or eel. The venom is not as deadly as many snakes but sure as hell not much fun that's for sure. I think if a rattler hit a vein instead of a muscle the bite could indeed be deadly.

Serious question.. If rattlers are edible how about other snakes? The Boas I understand are a blight in parts of Florida.

I went through a US combined military survival school in Panama. Get hungry enough and lots of things start looking like they might taste like chicken..
