That's great! I was actually just checking in to your first thread to see progress when I saw this. hope their assessment of "good condition" is in line with what we're hoping for. If it's even close, looks like you'll just have to sell that BMW of yours. yup, the BMW will have to go....

The BMW has a spot in the garage right between the Ducati and the VFR!

OMG that's friggin awesome ,I saw the stolen thread the other day and couldn't even bear to read it. My bike isn't even worth stealing but i'd be devastated if something happened it disappeared.
Glad hear all has went well, no doubt someone's looking out for those Cali VFR's.

Tell you what - if the thieves had tried to part it out on eBay/Craigslist, dozens of VFRWorld members would have recognized the wheels and descended on the crooks like a pack of wolves. Or a pride of lions. A herd of Cape Buffalo? Or something like that . . .

I hope you have good luck with the insurance company. I consider the vast majority of insurance companies as rapists who will have sex with road kill if it means they can put the screws to their clients. Most often, they recover what they pay out on a claim over the next few years through increased premiums and high deductibles. Also, they are all in bed with each other by sharing information. Somehow I think your records with your present insurer should not be disclosed without your permission. I feel sorry for good people who work for them.

Happy to be wrong about the chop shop. Probably some locals who nicked your bike. May be prints all over it.

USAA insurance gets consistently high marks. I was unaware that Honorable on a DD214 was included in joining up. My insurer is adequate but not of the caliber of USAA.

Ten bucks cash for those wheels and another fiver for the tires? ;)

I don't disagree with you most of the time. However, I totaled two vehicles in 2010 (with help from idiot drivers), one being a VFR, and my insurance paid me significantly higher than retail book on both of them. I've only been with them 30 years. I've never gotten an increase due to these wrecks, a speeding ticket, or anything else, and get every discount they offer. In my case, they've rewarded me to stay. They ought to considering how much money they've made from me. Had I had no insurance, all the catastrophes would have happened to me. Damned if you have it, damned if you don't.

One insurance scam is tossing up on the net one of those "Drivers in ______ will shit their britches when they find out about this" The hype is to get folks to plug in their Email to learn how to save a few pesos on their insurance premiums. Then the fuckers sell your info and for months the "nice guys" are into your shit telling you all the wonderful things they can do for you if you send them your pesos. Tried this once with a Farmers agency near my place who was going to save me X number of pesos. I let this chica ramble on and kept a tally of all the things she wanted to sell me including the "small" costs for signing on the bottom line. As I recall her outfit was gonna cost me about 200 more pesos a year.

Update on this particular agency. The building is for sale and the agent is tits up.

Adjusters many times should be given acting awards. All that mumbling, fumbling and first half of "Forrest Gump" routine is BS. Paraphrasing Missus Ronny Raygun, "Just say no to adjusters!"

Yes I feel much better now..;)

That's great news dude. And as for no suspects? Don't let it get to you. Whatever POS stole your bike is his own punishment - a guaranteed complete loser. Good luck getting the bike back and all fixed up.

Picking up the VFR from the impound lot today. Then I'll see what's what.
