I just noticed last night that my dash lights(mainly the temp/fuel level lcd display) dim and blink lightly when the turn signal is on. I know there is some draw but is this normal?
I replaced my RR last month with the updated Honda part and all tests OK...no grief whatsoever.

Doesn't sound normal to me, as I have a '98. You said all tests ok, so I am assuming you are meaning the voltage readings after the upgrade.

Has it only been doing this since the R/R upgrade? Did it do it before?

Mine does that at idle, even after a brand new R/R and wiring upgrade. Just a light dimming effect as current is drawn off.

Sounds like a bad ground or low battery voltage. Does the headlight blink also? If not, I'd look at the ground going to the dash lights.

Run the engine at about 3 or 4k and see if they still dim with the signals. If they don't, then it is normal. Nothing to worry about. You said they were only dimming in time with the signals, not going on and off with the signals, right? If you apply the brakes, you will the brake light also dims in time with the signals at idle. You will not likely see the headlight do it, it is too bright to notice. You will notice that the headlight will increase in brightness if you rev the engine up though.

I never noticed it before, haven't ridden much at night. No headlight blink and there is no dimming at higher rpms.
    Thanks guys!

Check the voltage at the battery at idle. I'll bet it's low. Anything below
11v at idle is too low. Bad battery or stator or connection?

I'd have to concur w/ Eddie's first post; usually when something as you described occurs it is indicating a faulty ground.(ie. either the cluster ground is backfeeding thru the signals to ground or the signals are back feeding thru the cluster for ground)

I had that happen on my bike just recently, but then the turnsignals went out all together. The POS signal internals on the rear melted and kept shorting to ground everytime I used the signal.
