I bought my 84 VF700f for $500 out the door with 14000 miles. I paid 140 for insurance for a year and the only downside was getting my motorcycle license and plates. I would send a loved one next time.

Centre stand isn't an added extra, comes as standard, but the other two items are extra. Just out of curiosity, what guarantee does that come with as over in europe we get a 5 year guarantee with ours.

I paid 9500 plus tax and title for an 06 non ABS. I according to the invoice price I paid to see on the web, the dealer made about $800 on the bike. I bought it from a small shop in my home town. The owner is the salesman and I like him. I want him to succeed so he doesn't sell the place to a knucklehead like that last guy that owned it. I like to drop in just to talk about bikes, the weather, riding, you name it. Since I really like the guy, I don't see the need to beat him out of every dollar of profit he has in the bike so I can brag about how shrewd I am, nor do I see the need to travel hundreds of miles to avoid giving my friends a little business.

this thread kills me!!! We are seeing every year, every color, every market, the last of which is the most important. It only matters what they are selling the year/color combination YOU want near you, or if you are willing to ship it etc.., but that needs ALOT of trust in the dealer regarding the prep, how long the battery sat juiced etc..
Personally from running a shop I would get on the phone and price them out near you and do the best you can, shops are willing to sell over the phone these days if they are cool. I doesnt matter what they cost in FLA if you are in Vancouver. Good luck. FYI I bought an 04' w/600 miles + accessories for 7k in Dec. a bit pricey but it had 900$ pipes and the sheild I wanted already installed.

ps-- Eddie does have the coolest boss ever...:yo:

Well he's talking through his a$$. The VFR has always come with a centre stand since it came into production. It was always a good selling point as bikes of this type don't normally come with one. Sounds like the dealer is just extracting cash and giving you a load of BS. Check the Honda site. It clearly has one shown.

I know for a fact dealer cost for non ABS on the east cost is $9550.00 before tax tag & title because a bike shop buddy of mine got me a $100.00 above cost deal in march. So maby you can judge by that.

That number jives with what I recall was on the invoice. Know that the final cost to the dealer will be less after the adjustment process for sales. This was at the beginning of the season, now it's the end, so I'd gamble you should be able to do at least as well if not better ;-)

Is that a fact? East coast, eh? Well you should check CycleTrader online. They are selling the '07 RWB non-ABS for $9199 list price in Georgia. It's only a 475 mile cruise for me.

I went to the dealership in my area in Florida Saturday of last weekend, and told the salesman about it. I have a 2007 Ducati ST3 for trade-in. The salesman called me the Monday after the weekend and said to come in. The manager was willing to deal but wants to see my trade-in. I plan to offer $10k OTD with the bags for the non-ABS Anniversary Edition.

They have one non-ABS RWB, one ABS RWB, and one maroon non-ABS all on the showroom floor right now. With three '07s on the floor and the manufacturer probably putting the screws to them to get the '08 in the showroom pretty soon, I think they'll jump on it.

Go armed with numbers when you go to deal on a bike! Kelly Blue Book on the '07 VFR, as soon as you get it out the door, drops the value of the VFR to $8445 RETAIL. Trade-in value drops to a staggering $6090! Hell, My Ducati as a trade in is as high in the KBB as the VFR is retail. An '07 still sitting on the showroom floor is costing the dealership money, and they should be willing to deal to be rid of it because they know what it's devaluation is. It's not worth it for them to take too much of a loss by saying no.

As far as asking 10% for accessories? They usually give 20% off when you buy a bike, for as long as you own the bike. The bags list at $995. I figure to say they are worth $850 when I rationalize my OTD price to them. My attitude is take it or leave it. I don't need your bike. I HAVE one. It's your job to sell me the bike.

I am going to the dealership tomorrow and offer them $10,000 OTD with the bags. I'll let you know if I have a new bike tomorrow evening.

    My25thVFRVision -

Wrong again - Here's the quote about the saddlebags right from the Honda website. Click on the Interceptor, then '07 tab, then to the left click on accessories.

Last sentence says it all... Where are you getting all your misinformation from? Sounds to me like you may have paid a bit too much for your bike. Now, dealer INSTALLATION might cost you $400 *lol*, but I can put on my own bags, thank you.
