interesting 86 vfr the frame tag has the 700 blacked out with paint and the id tag on the inner fender has the 700 blacked out after the vfr ..then a FG sn is rc2602 gm000285 and has 750 lower fairings on it..has a sensor on the back of the front cylinder..got a 86 vfr700f2 and this 86 vfr that might be a 750 really runs strong..lots better than my 86 # 000037 700..read the thread below and will look for the casting codes cylinder says 699cm..this thing flies ..lots stronger but has a Yoshi slip on system and the other 86 700 I have has the twin slip on cobra F1R cans..the bike that might be a 750 has 34k on the clock got it tore down to do some detailing and fluid flush and valve adjustment wont ride it till next year..kinda a winter project and ive got to get out the 92 cbr 600f2 before it gets dormant and jealous of the vfr,s .thanks Gregg in ohio

If the stamp on the case says 699cm it is a 700 not a 750

I wouldn't think there would be a huge difference but I just found out that the previous owner of my bike went to the trouble of swapping in a 750. I would think that is a lot of work for 50cc but it must have been compelling enough for him... I have never ridden a 700 so I have nothing to compare with, it would be interesting to see some real #'s regarding the difference.

Still doesn't explain the factory blanking out the 700 in the vin plate and decal on the fender ..says 700 under the paint black outs..and vfr---FG..had 750 lowers..but the tach redline is 11k ,,its tore aprt and doing a real good do over on the valves and coolant and all fluids..i can get the extra engine for 250 but its way north of Detroit mich ..not doable for the gas money and time involved..and who knows if the engine is anygood..Gregg in ohio

My understanding is honda tried to balance out any performance loss on the 50 cc smaller 700 by giving it a slightly more aggressive cam as well as a little more compression. You shouldn't be able to feel any difference between a 700 and a 750.
