They just need to adjust production accordingly. If sales of full dress $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ baggers are falling they don't need to be running so many through the plant. I see plenty of younger folks on sportsters or whatever their smaller bikes are. They're not going anywhere.

An associate of a “known outlaw motorcycle club” was shot and killed on westbound Interstate 80 Saturday afternoon, closing down the freeway to the state line.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a motorcyclist was driving a 2009 black Harley Davidson on Interstate 80 just inside the city limits of Truckee when three motorcyclists wearing black leathers “came up on him and fired,” said CHP Officer Pete Mann.
CHP Truckee Commander Ryan Stonebraker said the CHP responded to a call at about 3:55 p.m.. Officers found one victim with “life-threatening injuries,” he said.
The victim died at the scene, and a homicide investigation is underway.
Mann said the victim was associated with the Vagos motorcycle club, but was not a member. He described him as “kind of a hanger on” to the club.

On a regular route I ride, there is a 10 mile narrow road that parallels a small river. It is INFESTED with deer and wild turkeys. Accordingly, I ride it slowly just to hopefully not hit a critter. I love to follow behind Harleys on that road because they act as road clearing devices. I can tell they want me to pass but, nope, you're gonna hit the deer first, not me.

BTW, wtf is a "hipster"? i'm apparently not one. Nobody is like me thus, I am me. ; )

Motorcycles gangs are proof positive that there will never be peace or the whole "family of man" thing. When like people band together in tribes to hate one another there is no hope of world peace.

Despite my dislike for their current offerings, Harley has contributed a lot to the motorcycle world since its existence. Like it or not, they were an important part of shaping motorcycles throughout the years.

HD tried to sue several companies over that claiming they invented motorcycles with two wheels.

Oooh, oooh I want to spend $5,000 to get 100 horsepower out of a bike designed a century ago, on top of the $25,000 it already cost...

I watched the video and I can't tell why they went off the road. Did they feel like they were being pushed by the guys taking the video? Maybe the guy put his foot down and missed the pavement? It looked like the the lead Harley just turned off the road and headed down the embankment for no reason at all. I didn't laugh. I felt really sorry for them. Their ride was ruined and possibly the enjoyment of the sport because they just didn't know what they were doing.

One thing I find the most troubling about the Harley mystique is the idea that you can have ridden around the neighborhood on a mini bike in your youth and feel comfortable walking into a Harley store and riding out on a full dress monster.

I sort of lump HD guys up there with the Hyabusa crowd. They're both more concerned with the image than the bike. I ride a 'Busa, one says. Well, I ride a Harley, the other says.

And I'm on the VFR, and I'm like, Nice $5,000 paint jobs, guys. I sprayed mine, eh. Anyway, I'll see you in the ditch and call the paramedics (to the 'Busa), and I'll head on to the next stop and wait an hour for you to waddle in on your duck (to the HD). Oh, and my paint job cost like $200. Looks like shit, but that bike doesn't enjoy being parked on display, so who cares.

Then I scoot on, keeping it vroom-vroom and between the lines, which is why we get the VFR in the first place. It's just not a stupid bike on any level. There's nothing to pick on it about.

Do I hate HD? No. I don't hate 'Busa either. Both really nose down on the middleweights, but it doesn't bother me. I just don't care.

    - Eric

With pegs that far forward, wouldn't you slide off the back? Seems it should have some racing pegs rear-ish. And no wind protection, which would scream after about 80 mph. Cool looking when it's parked, but not sure how practical it'd be when it was moving.
