I have to be honest, unless you frequently riding two-up, I don't understand riding around with the rear seat and grab bars. The bike looks so much better with the rear seat cowl!

Seat cowl is on, Ventura tail-rack is on (my weekday, commute-to-work configuration). If the weather is good on the weekend, I switch to Seat cowl off, Grab-rails on, Missus on.

No grab bars ever, my wife grabs on to me when she gets on. It looks great, but I rarely get use out of the seat cowl. I commute with a tail bag strapped around the seat.

Horrors!! This violates the brotherhood of "StockersForever" who will tell you this decreases the value of your bike by 93.7%

Then again, there are others who will copy your idea and call it their own.

The rear seat was on for the ride back from the dealers on October 11th, 2014. That afternoon it and the grab handles came off, were bagged up and boxed, the cowl and filler plate things went on...and that's how it's stayed.

Ride where I ride in the beautiful mountain twistys and you will have a tail or tank back with tools, flat kit, room for food, cell phone, water, bug wipe towels for visor, knife, duct tape, and other things to keep you from having a dead bike and nothing else on the side of the road. Looking good in that situation is impossible. It happens. My daughter was wrong when she said, "it's all about looking good".

Nelson Rigg Mini Journey magnetic TANK BAG stays on tank.

NELSON RIGG TAIL BAG stays strapped on passenger seat in utility room unless I'm going out for s couple days.

    Otherwise cowl on.

Both bags look Great on bike. Smooth flowing lines.

Looks good and works good either way.

Cowl is on most of the time. Grab rails haven't been on since we found out Mrs. 01ragtop was pregnant. My tail bag is strapped to the seat, and that goes on for overnight trips like the one I'm going on next week. Occasionally, I'll use it for the commute, but I haven't been commuting on the bike too much lately.

    Here's a definitive answer:

A tad embarrassing, but I don't get to get out much without my tail bag.

Cowl is great looking but rattled and off. My grab bars are off as well to allow less width with the Soft saddle bags on to get it in my single garage along with my car. I use the seat and have a soft tail bag Viking as well as a Large tank bag full time. I will take them off in the winter for storage. I don't want to scratch the cowl and until I go to the track it is in the closet. Look forward to doing some advanced riding courses and track time at the old L.H miller race track next year. I ride single so no need to play with it. I also like having the ability to go to the store etc. with the ability of storage if not on a ride.

I own Schrödinger's bike. Therefore, they're both on and off at the same time.
