So, while doing some cleaning the other day, I noticed the bolt that holds #2 spark plug parts is mia. Anybody ever have this happen? The one that holds the boot to the valve cover.
I replaced it with a 20 mm long flanged headed bolt I grabbed from the local hardware store, but wondering if I should put a drop of blue loctite on it?

    Thoughts?

Posting the year and model of your bike may help with getting answers. Most people here have 5th and 6th gens, and we don't have that bolt.

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about.
My finger is pointing to the one I replaced.

I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue, or if someone has fooled with my bike.

Had the same problem on my 2003, found the bolt was loose. Those are what Honda calls your Direct Ignition Coils, probably someone forgot to tighten bolt after last spark plug replacement.

Bikes got 6800 miles on it. I bought it with 4200. I haven't changed anything but tires and oil.

Everytime I see one of these type of threads I ALWAYS go out and check my bike...this time, all is good; the bolt is in place and tight. WooHoo!

Shouldn't need loctite. If torqued to the right spec it should be fine.

Don't know how common, but I check up under there every time I clean the bike. The coils are in there petty well, take a good tug to pull them out and they are long, so chances are slim one would ever come out on it's own, bike would start mis-firing immediately.
