No kidding. Too bad we don't have support like the toyota/scion/subaru gt86/frs/brz. This company "Ace" has come out with about 10 different versions of headers for that car, all tailored to suit different driving styles and powerbands. Big primary for forced induction over 400 hp and small primary diameter for less than 400hp forced induction or 200hp NA racing. 4-2-1 (better torque spread) and 4-1 (better peak hp). 4-2-1 short (more top end pull) medium and long lube (more low end torque) designs... Its ridiculous lol. Delkevic/motad/sandy's/ebay/etc does not take any of this into consideration, their only objective is to make it fit and make money.

There really does seem to be a big hole that someone could fill with a nice header. How long has the Tyga project been going on?
An Akra or Arata system would be very cool on a VFR.

It's great that Tyga even decided to consider making the headers for our bikes but man is it taking forever! I have been postponing putting on the cat-less headers I have but might just do it anyway. I'm also waiting to get my bike lift first but based on how the Tyga is coming along I think I'll have the lift well before hand.

My Delkevic came in today. I spent the evening getting the bike ready. Body panels are off. The old exhaust is off. Even tho the engine is a little grey from alum tarnish in places, it hasn't been this clean since it left the showroom. Either Fri evening or Sat morning it'll go back together.

The Delkevic looks nice. Or at least the pieces do. After getting to stock header off, I think I'm really going to appreciate the multi piece design of the Delkevic. The collector is big, and unrestricted. It looks like it could swallow large volumes of exhaust. The pipes are big and shiny, which is a stark contrast to the ugly little tubes of the stocker.

If it performs as good as it looks, I'll be very happy. I may even pop for a Delkevic can, then. My butt Dyno is just as worthless as everyone else's. However, I'll do my best. If anyone wants to Dyno my bike, have at it! Ha!

20160606_235340.jpg I got the Delkevic with the long carbon fiber can That comes up high, and I am very happy with it. here is a pic of the installed collector on mine. Sounds great and comes with a baffle insert that quiets it down. (I have never used that one)

I just came in from working on the bike. Exhaust is complete; plastics are not back on yet. I needed supper, and a break. All good news so far. No leaks. Yea! The Delkevic header looks about a thousand times better than the stock junk.

I may break down and get a Delkevic can to go with it, sometime in the future.

Congrats on the install. I bet it looks much better but I also bet the stock header is actually better performance wise.

Do you know the weight savings with the Delkevic?

From memory, the OEM 01 header is 6.6kg, the Delkevic is 4.5kg.

Black Widow exhausts were formerly called Sandy Bike spares. Message from most for are avoid at all costs.

    Exhausts are cheap Chinese rubbish.

Quote from a friend who bought some for his Cbr600

The downpipes from Sandy Bike Spares are entertaining to say the least.

Flat as hell up to 4K, where she leaps forwards until she hits 6.5K. At this point she hits another flat spot so hard that my balls hit the tank. When she cracks 9K, the acceleration is amazing. I just can't keep the front wheel down in 1st to 3rd when she makes that transition.

But to Sandy's credit, they just said send 'em back for a full refund.

So I've done the decent thing and ordered a set of Motad pipes. Twice the price, but my balls are worth it.

Yeah, The Earth is flat, lead/acid batteries are superior, and we never should have quit making wheels out of wood. I'll bet you anything you want to lose. Below 6000 rpm, there's a small increase. And at the lower rpm it seems to help most, while the bike is under a load. But above 6000 rpm, there is a very noticable increase. I'll never know why some of you guys worship at the alter of stock Honda exhaust. The stock exhaust had to be EPA compliant, and built to a price point (cheap).

I didn't see the above post about the black widow when I posted my reply. Glad I didn't get one of those.

I put the O2 sensors back in my Delkevic. I don't feel any need for a PC5. The stock ECU does a pretty good job of figuring things out. It looks great, but I think it runs even better. I have an 01 with the skinny pipes and catalitic converter. I've heard the 98-99 was a better system than the one I took off.

I have a cheap little slide type scale, so this is a ballpark figure, I tool 4.5 pounds off the bike. That includes the little metal triangle cover. I left it off because I want to see that curvatious stainless steel exhaust.

Not quite as much as I thought it would be but that is still significant.

Two Brothers Racing and Erion Racing headers > 1998/1999 stock Honda headers > Motad headers/delkevic > 2000 and up stock Honda catted headers > Sandys spare/ Black widow / chinese garbage

There is nothing for the ecu to figure out.

    I've got about $03.50.

This is a complete Delkevic system. I removed the rusty dusty stock one and put this one on.

Now the VFR runs looks and sounds great. I am completely satisfied with the product.

Did you notice any change in running temperatures? Nice paint job.

I did not notice any change, but I did not put too many miles on it before I put the new exhaust on.

I bought the bike and immediately tore into it before I did any real riding on it.

The graphics on it are a tapeworks kit, all vinyl over the stock red paint. It turned out pretty nice, and brakes up all that red.

I am running a full Delkevic exhaust on my '09 and I love it, though I can't really speak regarding the competition. (hell of a lot better than stock though) Looks and sounds great. (goes nicely with PCV and autotune)

Header install was relatively painless for me, just had to remove the evap can up front, which I didn't really want anyway! Came with everything needed for install except the common hand tools. No cutting/fitting required and the springs are holding up fine so far.
