Can anyone tell me where the tip over sensor is located on a 2003 vfr 800? It was knocked over and now won't start. Turns over but just doesn't fire up. Never had any issues until it was knocked over. Thanks

The bank angle sensor is between the gages and the headlights. As suggested by Scuba, flip the kill switch back and forth a few times. Seems to be a common vfr problem.

See the black sensor with the red wire? That's it.

You can re-set the sensor by rocking the kill switch after it falls over? Sucks if you have to peel all that body work off to access bank angle sensor. I was working on a TL1000R and the sensor was right near the gas tank, very easy to access, same symptom as yours, it would crank, start for a second or so and then die. Turned oot that it was up-side down, dirty rotten bastards. Happy ending to story, as bike rode good. Anyway, good luck, don't tip over any more and keep the shiny side up.

Here is how you bypass it to rule out the bank angle sensor.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

When I was around a turbo busa that was drag raced, they used to take apart the switch and silicone the ball that resides in there. The problem was, those bikes launched so hard from the line, that they were being killed by the "bank angle sensor/tip over switch." Far as shedding weight, you could always take a good "pooh" before heading oot onto the race track, good for a few less pounds :bs: yuk...
