Hopefully some one has an answer.I have 2002 VFR and the vtec does not
kick in like it use to.And after 8000rpm the engine bogs and wont rev any higher. The problem started after the battery went dead and I put the battery charger on it for a few hours.Trickle charge of course. The bike has new plugs, clean airfilter and clean fuel.any suggestion before I take it to the dealer...

Believe it or not it may be an RR issue.

Do you have a multimeter to check your charging system?

    02 Has Charging Recall!!!

Remember to take your 2002 vfr to the shop before october 17th to get your stator replaced for a higher output ac voltage. There is also a seat rail recall whatever that may be. Good luck. Just contact your honda dealer with your vin number and theyll take care of you.

Charging system works fine.Jumped on the bike to see if there still is a problem and vtec works.SO I wonder if this is an intermintant problem.

The AMA site usually has a listing of any recalls or the dealer should be able to type in your vin# and it should tell them if your bike has any open recalls/bulletins etc. Not positive about bike dealers but the automotive & heavy truck oem's have had this for some time.

Just remember that the V-Tech only kicks in if the bike has reached operating temperature.
