    VFRWARRIOR,

    Is the Pipercross the preferred set-up for the VFR? I don't want to go too extreme (I've spent enough on my Ducs - and it's a slippery slope), just looking for a little more performance. Want to put the Akra slip-on on it and maybe a better breathing filter. Recommendations/thoughts anyone?

    In a recent study it was proven that without that air filter, more Hodaka Combat Wombats had seized pistons than any other marque.

    From what I gathered, there is more filter materiel, hence more O2 gets through faster. Now as far as how good the filter material is, is still a question, but probably not to lose sleep over.

    Considering the tales of the K&N being crap, I'm sure this one has similar scrutiny from K&N supporters. For me, I like the reusability of filters like these and if they work as well if not better than an OEM paper filter, then all the better. I would really like to see an independent shootout done with these and OEM filters using scientific measuring instruments to end any debates. Of course "true believers" will still refute any evidence presented!

    I'm Currently using a K-N, so can't call it crap at all. especial in how the dyno worked out. It was what I used before with good results, so really there wasn't much to think about ....untill I read there was a new kid on the block. so when I do the Velocity stack mod and redo the air box, I''ll get a piper-X for the stock set up, and mangle this K-N for research.
