Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I just sold my 2004 1200s Bandit and went out and found myself a mint 02 VFR. I had problems with a bad vibration from day one with the bandit and was told by local dealer that it was normal and get use to it there is nothing you can do. My reply, is you wana bet. I now own a VFR and couldn't be more pleased. I will be stipping the bike down and it will be going to a Fella by the name of Frank Cipra for a custom paint job. Frank is the #1 artist to the goalies in the NHL and is looking to paint a bike so I am going to donate mine to the cause. It should be pretty crazy when all is said and done. you can check him out at www.cipradesign.com Cheers, Bob
Hi Bob, welcome to the group and congrats on your purchase. Be sure to post pics when the paint job is done. :thumb:
What is your goal for your bike? commuting? sport riding? How did you net the opportunity fo the custom paint? I'll take a shot at what the dude slaps on the bike. I be he does a crystal white ice base coat with blue and red lines. Maybe some circles. Hopefully he leaves his face off... *not a back-hand compliment I hope you don't skate on getting us pictures of the bike. Are you paying by check? I'd Capitalsize on that opportunity as well. Go CAPS!
Sounds awesome, it sure will be unique! I think some of the Bandit vibration came from bad dampening with the fairing etc... great bike, just not quite as refined. When I ran a shop our sister store had the Suzukis and I rode and liked the Bandits alot, but opted for an FZ1 eventually. Enjoy!
welcome to the site. I used to covet the Bandit that came out around 94 I think red with chrome retro style mirrors. I ended up with a Seca 2 though as I got a much better deal... Not quite the bike as the Bandit but okay for a starter. No real comparison to a VFR, though. Apples and oranges...
Too cool. I just traded my 03 Bandit for an 06 VFR today. I loved that Bandit and learned to ignore the buzz bit it did get annoying once in a while. Another Bob
I will put pictures up as soon as I get them. I have given Frank free reign on the bike to do what ever he likes. He said this job is going to be over the top for him. I will have a helmet done as well so when I am out touring around and ripping up the country roads, it should look pretty sweet. This job is costing nothing it is being absobed by Cipra Design. I met Frank a number of years ago teaching scuba diving and he was one of my students and have been friends ever since. I have had a number of things done by Frank over the past 15 years so I will post a few pictures for everone to have a look at. This is an addirondack chair that he painted http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/egalechair2.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/Egalechair.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/tigerchair.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/DSCN1005.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/DSCN1006.jpg trailer for behind the bike made by Sarasota Trailers http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/DSC00587.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/TigerTrailer1.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/DSC00588.jpg Ron Tugnuts Harley (Former NHL Goalie) http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/P1010289.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/P1010290.jpg A Couple of Helmets that were done for me five years ago. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/DSCN0550.jpg Here are a couple wake boards as well. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/P6300080.jpg http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h87/bob_laura/DSCN0517.jpg
