So once in a while my work has it where it happens I'm around & in - out of old estates, and in that especially garages. On yesterdays adventure I'm walking back and forth from one end of the property, just so happens the pump house was on the other end where you had to hoof it. One trip back to the truck had me reroute around the other side of the garage, low and behold... We are talking.
Yes, it is a 647 Hawk, 1991, original owner. I played it down not knowing what it was, when he brought up that it was different with the SSSA 12,994 miles. stock less some goofy stickers smh, Sad part was in the timing, it hadn't been run for like 7 years as he says. Then in July, doh last month, a tenet that rents out a place on another part of the property, his car broke down, he felt bad and offered the bike bike as a temporary means of getting around, while he gets his car back running went back fresh battery and oil, he said it fired right up. at that time of the conversation he told me there's a maybe, if later here, He also comes across he doesn't know what he has.. so will will be back in touch for sure.
Looks like it been dropped on both sides, good there's no fairings to fix. Remember when they came out--- big showing at Laguna....hope ya get it for a song----- and your BD Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I needed to go back out to the place to finish up what I started yesterday and while there gave it another going over just to make sure, I like looking at items like this, Gave the owner are you sure......But other than some sun weathered paint fade on the rear upper faring , it's actually pink a little going on the front fender too. Then there's the usual Honda black plastic fade to dark gray bit where the horn and start switch is, over all it's pretty straight, the fork lowers are ruff looking, yet smooth, same for the clutch cover, looks like some salt air has gotten under the coating?. LOL those levers look like they where intentionally bent that way, there's no scuffs. even the mirrors are straight. Tank is perfect, all in all it's not to bad of shape considering what else there is hanging around the garage. I wanted to ask to hear it run, but wasn't the time. So I'm for sure keeping in touch.
Dude! Owning one of these is still on my bucket list! Hopefully you can get it cheap, then I can live vicariously through you and then when you realize MBD (Multiple Bike Disorder) isn't as easy as some make it out, you'll give it to someone like me who already learned to live with MBD.
I had one just like it! I sold it to a doode in Brooklyn, he is happy as I am. Race my EX500 against yah any day :vtr2: Hawk had/has way better build quality than the nInJa, good luck with it. The jeting on the rear cylinders is different than the front, mine had a full two bothers pipe on it, can you say LOUD. Its all good though, eace:
