I am in the process of changing my clutch rod seal in my 84 500.
Unfortunately that involves removing the engine and splitting the engine cases.
I am hoping to do it without removing the top end, but I need to remove the stator.
Does anyone know what the size of the bolt is that screws into the stator to drive it out.
It looks to be a M18 x 1.5 but that is just a guess. The ID of the thread is .725.
Officially it is tool 07733-0020001 or 07933-3000000, but I don't want to drop big bucks for a one time repair to replace a $4 seal.
    Thanks

Look on ebay for the tool. I just bought a puller for my '86 700 for $8.50 with free shipping.

Thanks, I should have thought of that sooner. Unfortunately it is 6-10 days shipping.
The good think is that one of the vendors included the bolt size M20 x 1.5 with 38mm of thread and a 30 mm hex head so I am going to try and source at a bolt shop.
    Cheers
