Suit yourself dude, but it seems kind of silly to me that you know there's an issue and you're not fixing it. That's just asking for trouble.

It only takes an hour or so to actually fix this problem - much better than hours on the side of the road and having to deal with it later. It's far easier to be pro-active in the comfort of your own garage than out on the side of a highway without all the comforts and convenience of home.

I think I replaced that fuse with a 25 amp instead of the 20 amp that was in there. I will go up to 30 amp if that is what's recommended. It seemed like 20 wasn't enough for a fuse that can cripple a motorcycle.

It is not caused by the HID's. That fuse is not part of the headlight circuit, it is part of the fuel circuit. This fuse holder is very failure prone, even on stock bikes. You need to replace the holder with something of higher quality. The squid lights are not the root cause, but they certainly are not helping matters.

I did see that 20amp fuse was cooked. So I went up to 25, soon to up it to 30 amp... thanks for that heads up. I road about a mile with those HID on and the 20 amp gave way.

From reading some good info the previous owner had the wrong fuse (20 amp) in there, Should be 30 amp which I will put in tonight. I replaced with a 25 amp. Since it's prone to fail it will be upgraded soon enough.

Right, we established that earlier in this thread.

That's not to say that you still don't have other issues. Any new (to you) VFR should get 'The Drill' right away, but that's just my opinion. :)

I'm in the north east so I'm going to ride the piss out of her till the weather say's otherwise . This 30 amp swap should do the job till I'm able to perform 'The Drill'. I found what looks like a fuse holder under the seat going to keep a couple spare fuses in there just in case. If it blows the 30 amp I know there some bullsh*t afoot and I will upgrade Sheila accordingly. Yall be safe out there.

All 1-6th gens have old school rr's
    The 7th got MOSFET
I would hope that Honda got their head out of their ass and put MOSFET on the eighth gen.
