Where can i get a throttle return cable for my son's VFR?

Does anyone know where i can get a throttle return cable for my son's 87 VFR 700? Went to the stealership for one,And after waiting for over a week,They finealy told me they couldn't get one

 

That cable is readily available, I just checked on line with Honda UK and there is stock available. Part number is 17920 ML7 000. Any decent dealer should be able to get it. Try Dave silver spares in the uk if you don't have any luck in the states. BTW they work perfectly well without, first thing I did on my track VFR was remove that cable to lighten the throttle.

 

www.bikebandit.com shows both cables are available priced around $20 one a little over the other a little under.

One more question tbones86,Do you know the part #'s for the cables on bike bandit? I try to bring them up but it doesen't give a schematic for the cables,I guess i'm doing something wrong.

Cable A: 76008-001

Cable B: 76026-001 ( bad news though, it is ghosted out on the list indicating it is not available now)

May be time to get ingenious if you need cable "B" & see if someone can make you one. If you have the origanal housing & ends this should not be that difficult. Also having the ball ends from the origanal cable would help to to see if any can be matched up or worst case make mold & recast new ends( a little green sand should fit the bill for casting)
