Its been a while, when I was on here years ago I had a red 2005. I'm back mostly in part to finding a great bike, a 2006 with 36,000+ miles but its in Great shape. Get this list of extras:

RECENT VALVE, FORK, COOLANT, HOSES, BATTERY, CHAIN, AND SPROCKET SERVICE.

Michelin Pilot Road 4 Tires (rear has about 1500-2000 miles left in it, front has much more)

    Ohlins rear shock

    Racetech kit in front forks

    Factory matching saddle bags

    Factory rear seat cover

Touring windscreen, not sure what make/model

    Leo Vince carbon exhaust

    Delkavic header

    K&N filter

+2 rear sprocket (both sprockets and chain replaced @ 35,500 miles)

Power commander IV (smooth, fast, 38 mpg average, great throttle response)

Galfer stainless brake lines (black plastic overcoat)

    Helibars

    Sargeant saddle

    Heated grips

    FZ-1 Fuzeblock

Techmount (Not currently intalled. I'm keeping the RAM mount shown)

Bmw powerlet on left fairing for heated gear

Buell pegs (1" lower, stockers included)

T-Rex racing single sided rear stand

    Pazzo Adjustable levers

    Scotts damper

    VFRness electrical fix (http://www.wiremybike.com/)

Rewired FI fuse (common issue with factory design which vfrness fixes)

    Blue connector bypass installed

Black reflective tape on the rear (black during the day but bright as heck under lights at night)

Valves were checked/adjusted and throttle bodies were synced @ 33,500 miles

Radiator hoses all replaced during valve adjustment @33,500. Cooling system was flushed at the same time. Rebuilt the forks and completely cleaned out all the old oil, cleaned the shim stacks, and put in new seals late 2015 @ 31K miles. Battery replaced January '16.

My question is, "whats left for me to do?" The answer may be just to ride.

Since my original VFR I have owned a 2004 1000RR, awesome bike, fast and I stayed in trouble. Then a ZX1400, stupid fast but I was tired of being in trouble so I never really enjoyed it. The ZX turned heads and I was pulled over for thinking of going fast. Felt like that anyway.

So I am back, bike sounds great, runs like a top and its actually comfortable.

Welcome back!! Is that a Great Dane back there looking through the wind screen? We have been missing our big dog since Truman died.

    Nice bike!

I'd ditch the K&N filter asap though. Think a 'hole' lotta people would agree with me here. Pun intended.

You can't go wrong with a stock oil filter from Honda.

This article lists a lot of filters that would be good and believe info is fairly accurate. Stock Honda filter always good but if you want to save some dough, here are some alternatives.

Thanks. I automatically think "air filter" when I see K&N. I'll peek at the oil filter tonight to see if it's the culprit.

Yea, I was talking oil filter and not air filter. Bunch of talk here and other places lately with K&N oil filters leaking and blowing out at the nut welded to end.

Nice ride and welcome back to the vfr. I'm a recent adopter and I can't imagine leaving the platform. It seems like your mod list includes one of everything. Did you by any chance know a woman named Wendy when you had your red 05?

Wendy, no doesn't ring a bell. I was in TN then, I didn't have to travel far for great roads. On my side of Houston i have to ride almost 2 hours to get to the starting line of a good ride.

Ok I checked, the oil filter is a Honda, its the air filter thats K&N. It just had an oil change but knowing me I will have to put some fresh stuff in myself soon.

And after seeing the pic of yours my wife now informs me our next addition will look just like him. She really likes the fawn color. He looks like he was as calm as he could be. I enjoy my pup but sometimes I think he's going break something or himself bouncing around. He has no idea how big he is.

Truman was a bit of a loose canon. I could never trust him with other people. You just never knew when he would snap at you. He never bit anyone but the vet always knocked him out to do anything. We had a black and white male before Truman named Duncan. He was a sweetie and a 200lb lap kitty. Great Danes are the best but you can't leave the butter on the counter in the kitchen and they never get over wanting to sit in your lap.
