Looking at this link, seems like between 55-65 centigrade is not terribly bad: http://www.one-ring.net/vfrfaq/reg-rect.html#Comp4

What are my other options in terms of having an upgraded R/R? More like a plug n play one but with bigger fins and heat sink?

Some riders have fitted a small computer fan on the r/r to reduce the heat. :cool-new:

I already have the fan and am planning to install it because it does reduce heat, but still not sure how to install it since there's no bracket. Trying to be creative but would appreciate any ideas too :)

From the looks of your R/R, it is using the frame as a heatsink, you might increase the thermal conductivity by using common computer heatsink compound between the back plate and frame. Probably do more than the fan. Available from any computer store, CPU's get much hotter than your R/R. Knight is correct in that all R/R's except series units, dissipate excess power from the stator by shunting it to ground, thus causing the heat.

Yes, it looks like a metallic grease, any electronic or computer repair should have it. Shipping on ebay will kill you for a 50 cent item.

Do you have a link for it? I am adding multiple grounds on the bike. In fact, anywhere I can see a 'Green', I am adding ground.

T-stat seems to be fully functional, though I still need to take her out for a long ride. Yesterday, when I was testing few things on the bike, I let her idle for a few mins, gauge moved passed 'C' mark and climbed up to almost 1/2 mark. Is that the right place for the gauge to be at?

When you say those two hoses, upper and lower ones or ones connected to T-stat(small ones)? Thanks a lot everyone for all of your help.

P.S: Does anyone has a suggestion about all of these hoses? Are these specialty(motorcycle specific) ones or can be bought for cheap from autoparts store?

Does anyone know brake light bulb number from autoparts store? It has dual filaments. For daytime running and brake. Mine for rear brake is busted.

    Thanks for the help.

I am trying to assemble everything back after going over the bike and doing all these maintenance things. But somehow forgetting which bolt is going where for fairings :(

Can anyone please share pictures of the bolts on the fairings, please? On the upper fairing, is it 8mm or a hex one? Thanks for the help.

After all it was ended up being a bent fork :(

Majority of the things have been sorted out, except that damn neutral light. I am still trying to locate that diode. Does it sit behind ignition coil? As I can see it in the manual, but can't see it on the damn bike unless it's hidden somewhere. Lol

Anyone who has replaced that clutch diode or can share a pict, please? Thanks.

Just a question for all of your experts and for my own curiosity, what if someone is riding with a bent fork at speeds lower than 65mph or a bent tree or a bent handlebar? As long as bike is going in the straight line without any problem? When I bought the bike, PO rode the bike after leaving the handlebars in front of me and he was still going straight on it.

I have already replaced the fork though :)
