My '84 750 needs cam work and I've been considering the weld and grind offered by Megacycle. Considering the age of the bike, its a large investment. I was wondering if anyone here has had the Megacycle work done. Was there a significant performance increase? Would you recommend it?

I did them on mine about 17 years ago. Still looking good and making loads more power (with full pipes and intake/carb work). You'll probably need to rejet a touch, depending on what other mods you have.

Thanks for the reply. I have the option of a cam to boost midrange, or one aimed toward top end. I'm trying to decide which one to do. Did you have a similar choice?

Since I was also racing mine, I went with the more aggressive grind and new springs. I did get a big bump up in mid and top end power, but I also have full pipes and some intake work. For you, it depends on what kind of riding you do. For general purpose riding, the mid range would be good. If you plan on doing more engine mods, then the top end will help.
