what did you do to your vfr today?

Sorry no. I'm pretty antisocial and keep to myself, so don't know a lot of local riders. There's 4 million souls living here, you know.

 

I think he was probably thinking about the small group of VFR riders in general.

 

I cleaned the front wheel with kerosene, as it was pretty filthy. I'll wash it with some S100 next. I have a lot of parts that need to be disassembled and repowdercoated if I expect this bike to look how I want it.

 

Remember I've got that place in Sun valley for PC, same place that did my wheel for $65

 

Got a new PR4 for the 8th gen rear, clean & waxed rim. Went for a 125mi ride through the Redwoods to scrub it up.

 

I took the 6th gen for a 100 mile ride and put it up for sale.

The reasons: 1)I don't need two VFRs. 2) I love it but my 2000 model is set up perfect with Heli Bars, lowered pegs, Sargent seat and more. The 2002 VFR has got nothing. I would have to spend at least another $1000 getting it more comfortable. That 100 miles killed my butt! The stock seat sucks. Plus it is very different from my 5th gen. 3) It has a fueling issue that a $300 Power Commander would fix. Most people wouldn't notice it but I do. I have a Power Commander on my Y2k VFR. I can spend money on the bike getting it perfect or I can sell it. 4) It's a great motorcycle in great shape with new brakes, tires and service. It will make someone a great bike. I just don't need it. I am motorcycle poor for no reason! We will see if it sells. It seems like nothing is selling these days.

I am also more than a little bummed out. I have been dealing with my elderly parents and feel the time is short. I don't want to end up collecting stuff and thinking I am rich. Motorcycles are to be ridden and I am not doing that enough.

 

Got it, well good luck....I'm wanting a 5th gen more and more these days.....wife would spike my food....

I know what you mean. I even have my Norton up for sale. I am not who I am because I own a Norton. I am who I am just because.

That's not a problem. I have a mile and a half of that on my regular ride.

 

Yea, there is a dirt road at the end of my driveway. But the VFR is not parked in the home garage right now, so it is protected from the grime.

 

Rode her for 740 miles and only got one speeding ticket. XD lol

 

Head Shave

Another summer, another 84 VF1000F Top End Rebuild;

After 32 years of Hot/Cold cyclings, the heads could use a flat surface again


3rd Head Job in 3 years


Then the heads get a smoothing with the Flex Stone


Used a bunch of Bits on Air Tools


The Ports had pretty crabby Sand Casting Aluminum Tumors in there,,.. not anymore,,..


Now to Scrape Off the Cylinder Heads, Oh Joy,,..


Still gots to do Engine #4 next year, then #5,,..

 

removed a faulty datatool system 3 alarm from the bike, before it locks me out completely while out on a ride!

 

Looked at VFR , looked out at rain.
Closed shed door.
Clean shed instead.

 

Well, you know what they say "when there's a will, there's a way"

 

Especially on a weekend when the contractor went home.
