Just bought 2 x Bridgestone T30 Evo's for the 800, stuck bike on stand & removed both wheels.
The rear tyre is toast but the front (Bridgestone BT-23) will possibly be fine - if I can't change it by next week !!!

Tried to start it, got lights but no fuel pump, or crank. Checked every fuse, all good. Scoured the fi, and fuel section of the manual, went out to manually check the relay, then saw the killswitch off.

    D'oh!

I had it off to save from pumping while installing my auxiliary lights. Geared up, drove away. The lights need adjusted still.

Took the rear wheel off, got it as clean as I can, looks like it had a couple of years of grunge on it. WD40, toothbrush, half a roll of paper towels and my wheel and swingarm are clean. I need to buy more WD40 tho! I also replaced my rear brake pads. Years of chain lube and road tar are now sleeping with my paper towels in the recycling bin.

Well I managed to get the rear changed over, that was a pain without rim protectors...used bits of a plastic tub instead..
Just need to fire up the compressor in the morning and blow it up....lol & then balancing, (hopefully) I will get my wheel weights and balancing machine this week...

May try and now sort the front out tomorrow if the weather holds..

Yesterday really. 211 mile run round the west coast of Scotland. Some amazing roads and even better scenery. Bar risers definitely helped my back, though wrists still got sore. Risers did not seem to impact handling, or at least not enough to really notice.
Strange thing is, only my right thigh gets cramped/painful, not my left.

Just bought my 2006 and adjusted everything to my liking! Rotated the clutch lever slightly, adjusted the front and rear suspension, mirrors, bolted the rear trunk on, lubed the chain. New tires coming soon!

    Ride safe.

Since the weather is ifiie, no riding in that. I could only admire it.

Can't decide if I like it on the side stand....

    Or the center stand.

I prefer the side stand photo, it looks like the bike is standing up right unaided. I have no choice with mine, I ditched the center stand on my 01, once less anchor to weigh it down.

Today I changed the oil and filter on Storm ... I decided to deviate from my normal Shell Advance Ultra 4T by opting for the Shell Rotella T6.

I went for a short rip to the beer vendor down the highway. So far I'm pretty impressed with the results.

The Shell AU4T has been the best oil I've tried in my bike to date - smooth transmission and smooth shifting.

The Shell Rotella T6 so far? The transmission is even a little smoother than with the AU4T, and the shifting is so smooth, it's almost hard to feel the shift through the shift lever. FML!!!!

We'll see how it holds up over the long run ... I also changed the oil and filter in car since I had everything out. It was due as well. :)

I have not had any time to ride and I have let some wonderful riding days slip my grasp. My mom is in the hospital and most of my time has been taken up with her or in trying to earn a living. I did drop my ’02 VFR off at the dealer for the electrical service recall. I was passing by last week in the truck and so just threw it in the back and brought it home. The work was done fine but they broke my fairing. In all fairness it was broken at a spot that I had welded up and it still chapped my butt.

I took some time today, blew off work and fixed the Effed up fairing. I welded it up again and this time I used lots of fill. It looks like crap on the back side but it is solid.

I also pulled the tank up and pulled the air filter. It had a mouse chew hole in it and it is worthless. I am lucky that there is not a nest in there. Bikes that have been sitting, even in garages, can be trouble.

Oh. . . the electrical fix raised my output from 13.3v to 13.8v. I am betting they cleaned the grounds.
