I have read through previous posts and saw different questions and replies on this topic, but didn't find where anybody actually had posted any pics of the steps of installation doing the following below Steps 2 thru 4. I have installed these before, but was completely plug-n-play. While I believe I am clear on the below, I thought I might ask if anyone has, or could, snap a picture of the below as a visual confirmation for me?. Unless I am missing a thread on this, I am planning on taking pics of my install and posting.:

    2. Locate the ECU (Engine Control Unit) box. It is a flat box with one or more multi-pin connectors. It is under the seat or behind a side fairing.
Find the following wire in the ECU connector: Yellow/Green (Solid Yellow wire with thin Green stripe)

    3. Peel off the black sleeve (tape) that is wrapped around the ECU wires, leaving about 3 cm (1.2”) of the cables exposed.

    4. Connect the GIpro Black/Green wire to this wire, using the Red wire tap connector supplied.
Usage: Place the unstripped run wire (shown in the table above) inside the run channel. Close the side cover until latched. Cut off the excess length, then insert the unstripped tap wire (Black/Green) completely and check its position. Insert the blade (u-contact) and press down by finger pressure. Then, fully
depress the u-contact with pliers. Close the hinged top cover until latched.

It's been a number of years since I installed the indicator on my 2003, but I remember the wiring was straight forward.

Here is a photo of my install (sorry no wiring photos):

The LED on left was a voltage indicator from roadstercycle.com and the red LED was for my manual fan switch.
I put additional connectors behind dash for easy removal.

Have you figured it out yet? I just installed the Speedohealer and the Gear Indicator on my '99 a couple weeks ago. I should have taken some pictures while it was apart but I got in a hurry to put it back together. Instead of tapping that yellow/green tachometer wire from the ECU back in the tail section, I tapped it where it goes into the speedo/tach housing behind the headlight. It's a little more bodywork to remove but I think it results in a cleaner install.

Hope you already got 'er dun but if not, I'd be happy to help if I can.

    Howdy AirCav,

No, I haven't actually gotten to it yet. I plan to over the long weekend. That's a great idea on how you did yours. I think I will check that out first. Appreciate the reply!!

I found time today and got it hooked up. I ended up just hooking per the instructions to the ECM. Maybe it was just me, but the GIPRO wire I had to connect to the yellow/green stripe wire wasn't long enough, so I had to add some length. It was just as easy to go that route versus head back to the front cowl and still have to add more wire. Works great. Thanks to all who replied. Will hopefully get around to posting a few pics at some point.
