Good morning VFR world! I need some advice-- I just bought my very first VFR and its the 2007-- 25th anniversary edition with only2500 miles! I wanted to just replace all the fluids like motor oil, coolant, and brake n clutch fluid-- I already know how to do an oil change thats simple. I did coolant changes on my f4 all the time, What I wanted to know is would a coolant change be the same way On all bikes? Do I just drain the coolant from the water pump and reservoir and the engine block then refill it? Do I refill the coolant while the bike is running? How do i get any trapped air out of the system? Blip the throttle until no more bubbles? I think I might know what I'm doing but just wanted to be sure it would be done the same way as my 600f4-- sorry if it's a dumb question. Thanks in advance!

With double radiators it's especially hard to get air out, so fill as much as possible, then ride for 15-20 minutes, wait for it to cool and top up coolant under the radiator cap !!

    Haven't changed mine yet.

A few thing i've learned recently on Dumptrucks and Dodges.

Add coolant slowly, helps prevent air locks. Let idle for 5 minutes with cap off- then another 5 at a little more RPM. FWIW.

With your fairing off, and the bike on the kickstand, with the radiator cap off, blip the throttle a little and watch the air come out. Also, feel free to squeeze the coolant hoses as well. With the bike on the sidestand, the left radiator is the highest point and that is where the radiator cap is.

funnel.jpg I used this for my coolant fills for the VFR and cars. Costs about $25.00 but no headaches or doubts that all air is out.
