I don't want to buy this new VFR without some assurance I can improve the wind protection for upper body and face. This Puig and the Givi are the only aftermarket screens I can find.

I'm 5'8" tall, took a new VFR onto the interstate week before last, rode it at speeds between 65 and 95, and got blasted in my upper chest and face.

Here is an interesting article on reducing blast and buffeting from a German motorcycling mag: http://faq.f650.com/FAQs/Turbulence.htm

It seems to assert one can solve a lot with the right screen to which is attached a top deflector.

One pic here shows the Puig combo, sold as a unit. Alternatively one could do the Givi which adds about 3.5 inches to the stock, and then do an MRA bolt-on deflector. The other pic is of the Givi, no deflector mounted.

Anybody using anything like this? I'm 5'8" tall.

Consider this threa deleted. Sorry for the bandwidth. I forgot I had addressed this here before and gotten good and helpful replies. If I could make it disappear I would.

Am pursuing two different new bikes right now, both 800cc, the VFR and a BMW F800GT, and examining the windscreen thing for both. Confusion reigns.
