    Hello everyone,

I saw an 83 VF750 for sale nearby for a decent price and it resparked my interest in these bikes. As I understand it, that year would be vulnerable to cam issues. I assume there is no easy way to check these as a buyer, so I will just have to lowball him if it isnt running 100%?

It seems to be missing the lower plastics, so I was poking around looking for replacements, but then I saw this image, which I think looks really good, but I am not even sure what the difference is. Is it really just a cut-down front fender, restuffed seat and no belly pan? (and I thought those pans were usually required for racing?)

Does anyone swap out the instrument cluster (the one with the red vertical and horizontal lines all over the place)? It looks so dated to me, even compared to the 90s VFRs or an FJ1100.

What do people usually use for a suspension/wheel upgrade? Does it actually help or is it done as a more "because I can" thing?

Thank you and I apologize if these are dumb questions.

Had one of these, not sure about clocks, I'd leave it stock.. Plus couldn't justify spending the $$ on those gold valves and other upgrades.. Bikes that age just best to keep stock stuff well maintained, other than that ride em, honda = never fail (except poor vfr400 reg/rects)..

The photo you saw is a full blown HRC Superbike! I have had mine since 83, added Lockhart oil cooler (no longer available), Vance & Hines headers, Fox shock and Corbin seat. Leave it stock, clean it up, enjoy the classic lines, not dated at all to me. All the OEM rubber parts, o-rings & seals still available on Partzilla.com.

Mine happens to have an '85 paint scheme, but still classic. It's primitive but fun.

Despite some ppl experiencing cam issues mine rode like a champ! I could say sloppy brakes, front end etc, but I never cared really, just enjoyed riding! Very smooth motors and lovely sound!
