    Just to share with you my perfect day!! Todays is my day off so i decide to change my leaking fork seal on my 84 vf750f!!! Get it almost done but don't have any snap ring pliers so will have to wait until tomorow to get one to the store!!!

    Not fun anymore!!! Have to send the leg at the garage. Seal isn't taking place correctly!! I ´ll get some more beer insted and wait for the garage to call me!!

    Finaly got my fork seal change! Everything is back on. The only thing wrong is that i ear air loss from the equalising tube under the fuse holder! I think i did wrong when i put that tube togeter. Can i change that tub fir something else?? Can i just plug the hole andd get rid of it?? Any sugestion??

    The air tube is there to allow you to add some air pressure to the fork, which adds preload to the fork and will change the ride height. You can do the same thing by adding more preload to the springs e.g. by stacking washers on top, or using a longer spacer.

    If you were to remove the air tube you would need to seal each fork leg in any case and make it air-tight, as the trapped air volume adds a rising rate bottoming resistance to the fork when it is compressed.

    My guess is the easiest thing would be to replace the o-rings in the air joint where it seals to the fork leg; you may have damaged one (they would be old and hard) in the fork removal. If you can't get an OEM part, you should be able to get any size o-ring from an industrial seal supplier.

    Thanks for your advice! I ´ll try to replace the hose entirely with a rubber hose with a press fiting îll let you know!!

    When Racetech did my forks they welded the holes shut as they weren't needed anymore.
    I don't think it worked all that well to begin with.
